Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para calentar un material que contiene metal ferroso y/o no ferroso en un horno con una cámara de calentamiento, una puerta de carga, una lumbrera de corriente de escape y un conducto de corriente de escape, el cual comprende a) introducir combustible y un gas que contiene oxígeno en la cámara de calentamiento del horno a través de un quemador de modo que se forme una flama, b) monitorear la señal de por lo menos un sensor óptico instalado dentro de la cámara de calentamiento y/o el conducto de corriente de escape, c) monitorear el cambio de temperatura T de la corriente de escape con el tiempo (dT/dt), y d) ajustar la relación de combustible: oxígeno en la etapa a) como una función de la señal de los sensores de flama y dT/dt en la corriente de escape, y a un aparato diseñado para implementar el método.
