Abstract

Un sistema de catálogo electrónico para identificar un componente incluye almacenamiento de memoria de computadora en el cual se almacena software y una base de datos que contiene datos para un número de tipos del componente. Los datos incluyen imágenes, diagramas, dimensiones y especificaciones para cada uno de los tipos del componente. El sistema también incluye una estación de trabajo y una computadora de servidor en comunicación con el almacenamiento de memoria de computadora y la estación de trabajo. La computadora de servidor ejecuta el software para que las imágenes de los diferentes tipos de componente se presenten en la estación de trabajo a un usuario. El usuario puede seleccionar uno de la pluralidad de tipos del componente. Un número de diagramas alternativos para el tipo seleccionado de componente se presenta y el usuario puede seleccionar uno. Se ilustra una dimensión en el diagrama seleccionado, y el usuario ingresa esta dimensión. Entonces se presenta un componente que coincide con el tipo seleccionado, el diagrama seleccionado y la dimensión ingresada.
