Abstract
Device for obtaining compact metallic materials and foams by the metallurgy process of dissolution-sintering powder, which may be placed within a conventional furnace during the sintering stage of metallic foam with a melting point lower than 1000°C, avoiding the acquisition of an expensive furnace with controlled atmosphere. The device facilitates the process, making it easier, quicker and more efficient, in addition, the device being used with the chamber at vacuum conditions, with a static atmosphere of inner gas or continuous flow of inner gas. This device requires a reduced consumption of inner gas and does not require any maintenance at all. The obtained foams may be used for the manufacture of pieces for absorbing and desorbing gases; heat, energy and mass exchangers; energy and sound absorbers and for the manufacture of biomaterials for replacing parts of bone. The obtained compact pieces may be used in applications in the Aerospatiale, aeronautic industry and biomaterials.
