Abstract
Se describen técnicas para la señalización de un patrón de desplazamientos cíclicos y códigos de cobertura ortogonales para ser usados por un dispositivo inalámbrico (110, 120) en transmisiones de multi-capas. En un método de ejemplo, una señal incluye B bits para identificar una señal de referencia que es recibida, en donde cada una de las diversas señales de referencia disponibles es definida por un desplazamiento cíclico y un código de cobertura ortogonal. Los B bits se usan para identificar el desplazamiento cíclico y código de cobertura ortogonal de acuerdo con tablas predeterminadas que mapean cada valor de los B bits a un patrón de combinaciones de desplazamiento cíclico y código de cobertura ortogonal para un esquema de transmisión de multi-capas. Los patrones para el esquema de transmisión de multi-capas incluyen primer y segundo patrones basados en los mismos desplazamientos cíclicos, pero en donde algunos, pero no todos, los desplazamientos cíclicos en el primer patrón están asociados con los mismos códigos de cobertura ortogonales correspondientes en el segundo patrón.
