Abstract

Se proporcionan composiciones y métodos para tratar material lignocelulósico con una enzima con actividad dual que presenta actividad xilanasa y celulasa. La enzima es estable y activa a pH alto y temperaturas elevadas. Por lo tanto, la presente invención proporciona métodos para hidrolizar material lignocelulósico, especialmente celulosa y hemicelulosa, que son los principales componentes de la pared celular de plantas leñosas y no leñosas.
