Description
CONFIGURATION FOR THE EVACUATION OF A CONTAINER
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a configuration for the evacuation of a container.
More particularly, the present invention relates to a configuration for the evacuation of containers for the evacuation of bulk flowable materials in intermediate bulk containers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The viscous, greasy, flowable materials, including powders, are generally transported in containers having a rigid outer frame and a flexible inner receptacle. The inner receptacle usually contains an inlet mounted on top and a drain mounted on one side. The receptacle, therefore, is filled from the upper entrance, which is covered for transportation and storage. When the container is to be evacuated, the drainage is opened and the material is allowed to flow out of the container through the drain.
Where the materials are viscous and less flowable, for example, due to the effects of temperature, a mechanism is provided to cause the viscous material to exit the container through the drain. Examples include a double chamber, wherein the air is pumped into a first chamber, to cause the viscous material to leave a second adjacent chamber.
US Pat. No. 6,234,351 (ilcox) discloses a pad that is modified to include an inlet port that allows inflation of a region between folds of the receptacle. As the region between folds is inflated, an internal fold rises and becomes a forward wall, raising the level of the bulk material in the receptacle, tilting the bottom of the receptacle, and pulling excess material away from the port. drainage, all at the same time. In another embodiment, the pad is made with half the initial number of layers folded in half to create the upper and lower plies and the edges that are not bent, are joined. Where the cornered drainage ports are used, the receptacle can be configured so that a joint between layers parallel to the doubling, is parallel to a diagonal of a pocket in which the receptacle is located, and therefore, the union between layers it is opposite the drainage port, to improve the evacuation of the receptacle. A further optional feature of the invention is the inclusion of an integral filling conduit or a nose in the upper part of the receptacle, whose nozzle acts as a filling port to facilitate the filling of the receptacle. The invention can also be adjusted to fitted receptacles.
U.S. Patent Application 20010002675 (ilcox) discloses a method and apparatus for improving the evacuation of bulk material shipping containers. A receptacle is modified to include an air inlet port that allows inflation of any region between folds of the receptacle. As the region between the fold swells, an internal fold rises and becomes a forward wall, raising the level of the bulk material in the receptacle, tilting the bottom of the receptacle, and pulling the excess material away from the port. drainage, all at the same time. In another embodiment, the receptacle is made with half the initial number of layers folded in half, to create the upper and lower folds and the unfolded edges are joined. Where cornered drainage ports are used, the receptacle can be configured so that a joint between layers parallel to the doubling is parallel to a diagonal of a pocket in which the receptacle is located, and therefore, the junction between layers is opposite the drainage port to improve the evacuation of the receptacle. A further optional feature of the invention is the inclusion of an integral fill or nose duct in the upper part of the receptacle, whose nozzle acts as a filling port to facilitate the filling of the receptacle. Joints can be created in the region between folds to guide inflation. The invention can also be applied to tight receptacles.
U.S. Patent Application 20080302819 (Stuart), discloses a container evacuation system for viscous flowable materials such as grease, paste or flowable powders. The container system includes a lightweight, rigid exterior, such as a cardboard container. Within the container is provided a flexible containment system constructed of polyethylene sheets or the like. The flexible containment system is provided with a plurality of welds to create at least two receptacles, wherein one receptacle contains the flowable material and a second receptacle is available to be filled with air, to allow the air provided to the second receptacle to cause the flowable material of the first receptacle goes through a drain. The system includes welded pieces that surround at least a portion of the drain to create a funnel that directs the flowable material to the drain, while reducing the likelihood that a portion of the flexible containment system will obstruct the movement of the flowable material out of the first receptacle through the drain.
However, the known methods of construction for the evacuation of viscous material explained above have disadvantages, in particular, in relation to the positioning of the welding lines between the receptacles of the chambers.
A configuration for the evacuation of a container that will help overcome the aforementioned problems is an object of the invention.
