Abstract

The present invention pertains to the field of tissue engineering and provides a pharmaceutical composition for the induction of the osteogenesis process for repairing and/or regenerating bone. This formulation includes a physiologically acceptable vehicle, in this case a biodegradable compound based on gelatin having a three-dimensional porous structure along with a peptide of the adhesion protein of the root cementum (CAP/PTPLA) derived from the carboxyl-terminus region, which has an osteoinduction ability to treat bone defects, such as those resulting from traumas, infections, cancer in dental treatments amongst others.
