Abstract

A tilting support for plasma television sets and similar appliances combines in a single element the functions of fixing and levelling according to the desired position of the television set on walls, provides greater comfort and easiness to the user, dispensing the use of other elements for the mobility of the television set. It consists of a fixed support with mounting slots (2) for screws that will be introduced into sleeves on the wall or other desired place and lateral perforations (5) to assemble a central axis between the mobile part and the fixed one for forming an assembly, where the mobile part consists of a pulley (10) for coupling the TV set, a hinge and a locking screw (12) for the pulley (10) and a spirit level for levelling the support. The support is characterized as universal because it promotes the installation on independent fixing points, it is easily adaptable and it does not require the previous determination of the distance between perforations contained on the television set.

Description

FLAT SUPPORT FOR PLASMA TELEVISION AND SIMILAR ARTIFACTS The present patent application of a utility model refers to a universal support kit for fixing plasma or LCD televisions (liquid crystal display, with liquid crystal display) to the walls, to which a construction provision was conferred original, because it is a safe, low cost and easy to install, in relation to other models found in the market.
The use of plasma television monitors or LCD (liquid crystal display, with liquid crystal display) has been expanding and associated with it, there was also the need to develop suitable devices for mounting and support to its place of use, because Conceptually, these monitors were manufactured to take up as little space as possible on tables, shelves or even, to fix directly on the walls. In this way, an immediate concern arose to create mounting and support devices for plasma and LCD television monitors that complied with the VESA 5 standard of "Assembly".
The flat panel mounting interface (FDMI, Flat Panel Mounting Interface) - also known as "VESA Mounting Interface Standard (MIS)" from the VESA [Video Electronic Standards Association, Association for Electronic Standards and Video] or commonly as VESA- belongs to a family of rules defined by the VESA [Video Electronic Standards Association for the assembly of monitors with flat screen or LCD, televisions and other monitors for shelves or walls These standards aim to standardize the assembly of modern monitors, screens and televisions. The first standard or standard of this family was introduced in 1997 and was originally called the physical assembly interface of flat panel monitors (FPMPMI, Fiat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface). The VESA MIS-D mounting standard consists of four screws arranged in a square, the horizontal and vertical distances between the screws being approximately 100 mm. This standard is still the configuration used for desktop monitors. The standard for monitors of smaller size was defined as 75 mm x 75 mm. The VESA MIS-D 25 mounting standard adopts 10 mm perforations and M4 threads. Normally suitable fasteners (usually 10 mm) are provided with the assembly, although they are easily obtained in hardware stores anyway. The FDMI was extended in 2006 with a series of more standard screws, which are better suited for larger plasma monitors. The following standardized measures are currently in use: - MIS-D 75: 75 mm x 75 mm.
- MIS-D 100: 5 100 mm x 100 mm.
- MIS-F: 200 mm x 200 mm, 400 mm x 400 mm, 600 mm x 200 mm, 600 mm x 400 mm, 800 mm x 400 mm and 280 mm x 150 mm.
The examples of a complete identification of an assembly with the FDMI assembly standard are the following: - VESA MIS-D, 100, C.
- VESA MIS-F, 200, 200, 6.
The code that follows this abbreviation MIS identifies the part of the standard used; for example: B, C, D, E for flat screens, with a diagonal length of 10 cm to 78 cm; F for flat screens with a diagonal length of 79 cm to 230 cm; for the letter D: there may be a variation in the diagonal for part D, a number identifies the variations of 75 mm and 100 mm (100 or 75); for the letter F: a pair of numbers identifies the maximum width and height of the standard measurements of the holes; for letters B and E: the final letter identifies the location of the flat panel monitor interface, such as center (C), top (T, top), back (B, back), left (L, left), right (R, right), up and back (T / B, top and back) or left and right (UR, left and right); for the letter F: the final digit distinguishes between a 10 mm hole and an M6 screw and a 15 mm hole and an M8 screw.
In addition to the drilling standards, the regulations also specify the requirements for the location of the cables (Source: Standard 5 of the Flat Panel Mounting Interface (FDMI), 1.0 Revision 1, VESA-2006-2, Video Association for Standards Electronic and Video, January 2006).
In light of this standardization, in the case of plasma TVs in particular, some types of fasteners were developed. The applications MU 8501495-8, MU 8502626-3 and UM 8600981 -8 contain examples of supports of plasma televisions found in the market; however, with limitations as regards its versatility, installation safety and fixing and tilting.
To overcome these drawbacks, this universal support kit for plasma TVs and similar devices can be installed on any TV or flat screen model with VESA standard or not, and with a load capacity higher than that normally found in supports of this nature , becoming universal and adaptable to any model of plasma or LCD TVs.
Since it is formed by elements that promote independent fixing points and tilting mobility, it becomes a universal model, easily adaptable and that does not require the previous determination of the distance between the perforations in the TV set, within the VESA standards, in the moment of purchase, thus obtaining an accessory with the least possible number of parts, conveniently molded and arranged to carry out its functions with incomparable efficiency and versatility and without the drawbacks mentioned above.
Its innovative shape allows to obtain an excellent level of applicability, offering a model of support that, presenting an excellent finish in a metallic sheet of electro zinc and electrostatic painting, has a great durability and resistance.
Said universal support kit consists of a fixed support, with perforations for screws that will be inserted in the wall bushings or in the area to which it will be fixed, lateral perforations for coupling the central axis between the fixed and moving parts, forming a set, and the Mobile part consists of a pulley to attach the TV, a support, a pulley tightening screw and an air bubble level to level the support.
The support kit can be better understood from the following detailed description, according to the attached figures, in which: Figure 1 illustrates a front perspective view of the fixed support, an integral part of the television support kit. 1. Universal support. 2. Perforation to fix the support on the wall. 3. Drilling to couple the pulley. 4. Rectangular perforation to attach the measuring tape (measurement reference to assemble the support).
Figure 2 illustrates a side view of the fixed support, an integral part of the television support kit. 5. Drilling to fix the central shaft screw (used to fix the mobile support for tilting).
Figure 3 illustrates a perspective view of the fixed support, an integral part of the television support kit.
Figure 4 illustrates a front view of the support kit, with the fixed and movable parts assembled. 6. Drilling to couple the tilt regulator. 7. Support. 8. Level of air bubble to level the support. 9. Recess rectangular. 10. Coupling pulley to the TV stand. 11. Screw the central axis of the support. 12. Screw for the interlock of the pulley. 13. Mobile support for tilting.
Figure 5 illustrates a side view of the television support kit: 14. Tilting controller.
Figure 6 illustrates a basic view of the television support kit.
Figure 7 illustrates a front perspective view of the fully assembled support kit.
On the basis of these figures, the support kit can be seen (Fig. 7), which consists of a group of fixing elements divided into two parts, a fixed support (Fig. 1, 2, 3) with upper perforations and lower (Fig. 1, number 2) that will receive the screws that will be introduced in the wall bushings or in the fixing area.
The universal support kit also has lateral perforations (Fig. 2, number 5) for coupling a central axis (Fig. 4, number 1 1) that will be connected to the fixed support (Fig. 1, 2, 3) and a support mobile (Fig. 4, number 13) that forms a mounting (Fig. 7), where the mobile part is responsible for tilting the television that has been fixed on the support by a pulley (Fig. 4, number 10) that receives a central screw (Fig. 4, number 12) to lock it in the desired position.
There are two plastic flanges (Fig. 4, number 7) on the front of the support kit that act as wedges / supports, since the TV receives the pulley on its back (Fig. 4, number 10) leaving it without a support base.
A level of air bubble (Fig. 4, number 8) is a part of the kit and is fixed on the front of the kit to assist in the correct assembly of the television, indicating when it is level.
The installation of the support kit can be done by screwing the fixed part of the support to the wall or to another desired location, using the upper and lower perforations (Fig. 1, number 2).
The use of an air bubble level in the assembly has as main function to level the support kit on the wall (Fig. 4, number 8) to keep the TV level.
The support kit serves to fix the support to the wall and place the TV on it, by means of the pulley (Fig. 4, number 10), turning the rocker (Figure 5, number 14), causing the vertical movement of the mobile support .
