Abstract
La invenci?n se relaciona con la producci?n de di?xido de titanio, oxidando tetracloruro de titanio en un m?todo con m?ltiples pasos, en donde el ox?geno y el tetracloruro de titanio se dosifican en varias etapas. En una primera etapa, el TiCl4 gaseoso se introduce estequiom?tricamente o hiperestequiom?tricame nte en un flujo de gas que contiene ox?geno precalentado, con el fin de producir una suspensi?n gaseosa que contiene TiO2. En el segundo paso o en otros pasos, el TiCl4 l?quido y el gas que contiene ox?geno se introducen en la suspensi?n gaseosa que contiene TiO2 con el fin de producir TiO2 adicional. En una modalidad de la invenci?n, el TiCl4 y el gas que contiene ox?geno se agregan a una temperatura por debajo de aproximadamente 50?C en el segundo paso o en otros pasos. La invenci?n ahorra energ?a en comparaci?n con otros m?todos conocidos de la t?cnica anterior.
