Abstract

This invention for patent purposes, comprises 7 claims and the scope of protection is determined in the first claim, namely: solar oven for sterilization of bio-infectious hospital waste, that is, in short, an oven activated by solar energy, useful in that it sterilizes bio-infectious materials, with a secure result, efficiently and effectively; the principal characteristic thereof is that it sterilizes infecto-contagious waste without releasing lixiviates or toxic or contaminant gases into the atmosphere. This technology is doubly environmentally friendly in that it uses natural and very low cost energy and in turn eliminates the danger of contamination and infection. The creative idea in the principal claim is that of a solar oven for sterilizing bio-infectious hospital waste, implying that it is a device for installation in hospitals and clinics; but in the secondary claims thereof, the physical principle is adapted to the sterilization of: solid waste (domestic and industrial refuse); bodies of birds killed by or slaughtered because of avian flu; bio-infectious waste produced by dental clinics; bio-infectious waste derived from veterinary activity and finally, the invention is useful for the disinfection of contaminated waters. The sterilizing technology of solar ovens applies to the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gases/vapours (all electrically neutral). It produces no type of plasma and does not require the use of high electric currents: the electric power it uses is low-voltage and of photovoltaic solar origin.
