Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE ISSUANCE OF TRANSMISSION OF DIGITAL DATA AND DEVICE FOR THE GENERATION OF FLOWS OF DATA AND METADATA OF PCMP EXTENSION FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to metadata to ensure interoperability between the devices of a digital data transmission emission system, a device for the generation of data streams using the same, a transmission system of data transmission and a method for the transmission of digital data. More particularly, the present invention relates to a metadata structure for ensuring interoperability between the devices of a conventional digital transmission broadcasting system and a data server added to the conventional digital broadcasting transmission system for broadcasting a data transmission with based on a programming of the metadata communication protocol (PMCP), a device for generating data flows using it and a method for transmitting digital data transmission.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION As broadcasting has involved from analog to digital, a digital transmission broadcasting system has been required to transmit system information (S) and the program guide (PG) of transmission programs to the observers. through a transmission channel to allow the observers to conveniently search and select a desired broadcast program.
The Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC) defines a program and system information protocol (PSIP) to transmit system information (SI) and program guidance ( PG) as a transport stream (TS) based on an MPEG-2 system standard.
Figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating a system defined by a PMCP program metadata communication protocol. The ATSC designates a broadcasting broadcasting system that transmits the SI and the PG of the broadcasting programs through a transport stream based on the PSIP as a PSIP server or a PSIP generator. The PSIP information is first composed by a program director through a program management system and the PSIP composite information is transmitted to a PSIP server. The composite PSIP information can be updated, added or deleted if a broadcast schedule changes before finally transmitting the corresponding broadcast programs.
Broadcasting programming changes in a device that controls the broadcast transmission such as a traffic system, an automation system and an MPEG controller. Accordingly, the device controlling the broadcast transmission must have a capability to notify the changes of the broadcast schedule to the PSIP server so that the PSIP server updates the PSIP information with the changed program guide.
Given that the interfaces for the exchange of the program guide with the modified information are interchangeably defined by the operators, the interoperability between the digital broadcasting emission systems developed by many companies, that is, the interoperability between a device that controls the transmission of broadcasting and the PSIP server, I could not be sure. This causes the increase in effort and cost to incorporate an interface between the transmission devices when a broadcasting broadcasting system is constructed in a view of an operator or a developer of a digital broadcasting broadcasting system.
To overcome the problem described above, the ATSC defines the ATSC A / 76 standard, the PMCP. The PMCP introduces a metadata structure to exchange the standard PSIP information between the devices that constitute a digital broadcasting broadcast system and a broadcast method.
Figure 2 is a metadata structure defined in a PMCP. As shown in Figure 2, the structure of the PMCP metadata 200 includes a metadata message status 210, a metadata transport system 220, a metadata channel 230, a special metadata 260 program, a metadata classification 270 and metadata of a private PMCP information 280. The metadata message status 210 describes the validity of a transmitted message and a processing state. The transport stream of the metadata 220 describes the information of the transport flow. The channel metadata 230 describes channel tuning and virtual channel information. The metadata special program 240 describes a playlist of special programs used for a program guide. The time metadata 260 describes the system time information. The classification of metadata 270 describes the classifications of the broadcasting programs. The metadata of the private PMCP information 280 describes the system level information defined by a PMCP user.
The PMCP 200 metadata describes the information for the PSIP server to generate a transport stream to transmit the PSIP / PSI, where the PSI holds the program-specific information. That is, the PMCP is designed to provide a metadata for a broadcasting system to transmit the PSIP / PSI which is the system information and the program guide only for the video / audio transmission programs in a broadcast environment digital. The video / audio transmission program refers to a transmission program that consists of audio only, video only or audio and video.
The conventional digital broadcast environment simply provides audio / video transmission programs to the observers. Said conventional digital transmission environment has involved a digital data transmission environment that provides not only audio / video transmission programs but also watt related services to the observers by transmitting the data with the audio / video transmission programs.
To provide a data transmission service, a conventional digital broadcasting transmission system is required to have a data broadcasting transmission device to encode the data transmission contents in accordance with a data transmission protocol and the output of the contents of encoded data transmission as an MPEG-2 transport stream. The data broadcasting transmission device is designated as a data server 160 or a data flow generator in general.
The data server should receive program guidance and coding information to generate the data flow as similar to the PSIP server for a digital service. The control device of the broadcast transmission such as a traffic system, an automation system and an MPEG control system must have the ability to modify the program guide and encode the information.
Since the conventional PMCP does not describe the program guide and the coding information for data transmission, the conventional PMCP is not appropriate as an interface of a data transmission emission system to ensure interoperability for broadcast transmission of the data. Therefore, there is a demand for a system and method to ensure interoperability between the data server, which is newly added for data transmission and the other transmission devices for transmitting the data broadcasting programs.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a metadata structure to ensure interoperability between a conventional digital transmission broadcast system and a data server, added to the conventional digital transmission broadcast system to transmit a data broadcast based on a programming of the metadata communication protocol (PMCP), a device for generating data flow using it, a system for transmitting digital data and a method for transmitting digital data .
In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, a program for the metadata communication protocol is provided; a program and protocol of the information of the system (PSIP) of the metaevents of data of data to provide the information of identification and the guide of program of the events of data and a committee of the system of television advanced (ACAP) of the metadatos of the data service to provide the coding information that includes the signaling information and the transmission protocol information of the contents of the data transmission corresponding to data events.
Advantageous Effects In the present invention, a conventional PMCP metadata structure is extended by adding a metadata for the transmission of data broadcasting thereto. The extended PMCP metadata in accordance with the present invention ensures interoperability between a data server and a device that controls the broadcast transmission.
Also, the PMCP extended metadata in accordance with the present invention provides a control interface for updating, adding and deleting data events between a device that controls the broadcast transmission and a data server.

The broadcast transmission control device 1400 also controls the output of a transport stream of a data transmission program in accordance with the generated program guide.
The control device of the broadcast transmission 1400 includes a program management system, a traffic system, an automation system, a metadata extractor, a data encoding information editor, an MPEG driver, a file server to store and manage the data transmission content and a data agent to transmit the updated transmission data to a database.
The broadcast transmission control device 1400 can update the program guide and the data transmission contents using the PMCP extended metadata before transmitting a transport stream. In this case, the device controlling the transmission 1400 updates the data and notifies the updating of the data to the device generating the data stream 1450 using the PMCP extended metadata.
The device that generates the data stream 1450, that is, a data server generates a transport stream in accordance with the information of the data events described in the PMCP extended metadata such as the program guide, the system information and the coding information.
The data server can generate not only a data stream that has an AIT, an object carousel and a flow descriptor, but also a PSIP table as a transport stream. The data server creates the AIT in accordance with a metadata that describes the signaling information and encapsulates the data in accordance with the metadata that describes the information about the object carousel which is a protocol for transmitting an ACAP application. The data server also creates a flow descriptor in conformance with the metadata that describes the information about a DSM-CC flow descriptor.
The device generating the data stream 1450 includes an analyzer 1451, a memory 1452, a scheduler 1453 and an encoder 1454. The analyzer 1451 receives the PMCP extended metadata and the data transmission contents of a device that controls the transmission of broadcasting 1400. The analyzer 1451 analyzes the transmitted PMCP extended metadata and records the system information, the program guide and the encoding information with the contents of the data transmission to the memory 1452.
Analyzer 1451, as shown in Figure 3, can obtain the program guide of the properties of a PSIP 400 data event metadata.
Analyzer 1451, as shown in Figure 4, can obtain system information from a corresponding channel metadata 700 using a data event ID of a metadata of the data event ID 410.
The analyzer 1451 can obtain the information of the metadata encoding of the ACAP 500 data service.
The analyzer 1451 transmits the search information of the program guide. The data event ID that identifies an extended PMCP metadata is used as the search information of the program guide. As shown in Figure 8, if the one data event and the AV event have the same program guide, an event ID is used as search information of the program guide because the ID of the additional data events is not present. The analyzer 1451 may provide an ID of the data events for one or more of the data events for the 1453 programmer.
Programmer 1453 obtains program guidance for a data event of memory 1452 using the data event ID of analyzer 1451. Programmer 1453 inspects a time of the output of the contents of the data transmission of the Data event as a transport flow using the obtained program guide. The programmer 1453 transmits the search information of the data transmission contents, that is, an event data ID for the encoder 1454 when issuing any data of the event for the search of the contents of the data transmission corresponding to the data events. If the data events and the AV event have the same program guide, an ID event is used as the data transmission search information because the ID of the additional data events is not present.
The encoder 1454 obtains the data transmission contents, encoding the information and system information of the memory 1452 using the ID of the data events or the event ID transmitted from the scheduler 1453. The encoder 1454 creates the transport streams for the contents of the data transmission obtained, coding the information and the system information and issuing the transport flows created for a user terminal.
Figure 15 is a flow diagram illustrating a method of transmitting digital data using PMCP extended metadata in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in Figure 15, the broadcast transmission control device 1400 creates an extended PMCP metadata by creating and adding the coding information and programming information for the data events for data transmission to a DMCP metadata. conventional 200 in step S1301. Then, the broadcast transmission control device 1400 transmits the created PMCP extended metadata and the data transmission contents to the analyzer 1451 of the data stream generation device 1450 in step S1303.
When the program guides of the data transmission or the contents of the data transmission are added, omitted or updated, the device controlling the broadcast transmission 1400 updates a PMCP metadata previously created in step S1301 and transmits the extended PMCP metadata updated for the analyzer 1451 of the transport flow generation device 1500 in step S1303.
The analyzer 1251 analyzes the PMCP extended metadata in step S1305, and records the program guide, the system information, the encoding information and the contents of the data transmission in the memory 1452 in the step S1307. Therefore, the analyzer 1451 transmits the search information of the program guide such as an ID of the data events or an event ID to the scheduler 1453 in step S1309.
Programmer 1453 seeks and obtains a program guide for a data event between the information recorded in memory 1452 based on the search information of the program guide in steps S1311 and S1313.
The scheduler 1453 controls the data encoder 1454 to transmit the contents of the corresponding data transmission to a data event in accordance with the data event program guide received from the memory 1452. In more detail, the programmer 1453 inspects a Program. If the scheduler 1453 determines that it is a time to transmit the a data event in step S1315, the scheduler 1453 transmits an ID of the data events corresponding to the data transmission search information, i.e. an event of data to encoder 1454 in step S1317.
The encoder 1454 searches and obtains the contents of the data transmission, the system information and the encoding information using the ID of the data events in steps S1319 and S1321. The encoder 1454 creates the transport streams for the contents of the data transmission obtained, the system information and the encoding information and transmits the transport flows created to a user terminal in step S1323. The scheduler 1453 stops the encoder 1454 to emit the transport stream at a time of termination of the data events.
The method described above in accordance with the present invention can be incorporated as a program and stored in a computer readable record medium. The computer-readable record medium is any data storage device that can store data that can be read later by the computer system. The computer-readable recording medium includes a read-only memory (ROM), a random access memory (RAM), a CD-ROM; a floppy disk, a hard disk and an optical magnetic disk.
