Description

U N MANUAL IMMOBILIZER ASSEMBLY FOR A QUICK CONNECTION COUPLING The present invention relates to a manual immobilizer assembly for a quick-connect coupling, of the kind defined in the preamble of claim 1 which comes at the end. Quick-connect couplings of this kind are used, among others, to connect a wire line to a tool string. The following patents describe the prior art: FR 928 506 US 5 052 849 US 5 607 250. These patents describe quick-connect couplings, based on a male part having radial side walls, which are brought to corresponding engagement in radial notches of a female part, and immobilized there by means of various immobilizing plates, in order to resist the high torsional forces, in addition to the tensile forces. The coupling of the male and female parts also occurs laterally, the mutual locking being achieved by means of a cylindrical, spring-loaded immobilizing element, suspended in the female part, which is guided axially downwards in the upper part of the male part, and immobilized. Normally unlocking is achieved using a special tool and a key to pipelines. EP 122921 1 discloses a manual quick connect coupling for a wire line tool, comprising a male part (16) having several retainer lugs (42) and a transverse groove (40) provided at the front end of the male part . The arrangement also comprises a female part (12), a connecting part (20), a spring (22) and a cuff-shaped part (14) for mounting it to the female part. US 4,986,690 relates to a quick connection coupling, in which it is shown that a male pin is guided towards an immobilizing sleeve, and is brought into contact with an immobilizing assembly. The male pin is then rotated to bring the guide and retainer legs into abutment in the corresponding immobilizing notches; simultaneously the immobilizing assembly will be brought to engagement with a notch cut in the tip of the male pin, so that a spring is discharged. The publication further shows how decoupling is obtained by compressing the spring and bringing the male pin to the release position by rotation. This is achieved by using special tools and a pipe wrench. US 4,655,631 and US 4,784,543 disclose immovable quick-connect couplings, in which the coupling is obtained by guiding the male pin towards an immobilizing sleeve. It is further shown that several guide and retainer legs extend from the outer radius of the male pin, and that the male pin is retained by rotation, so that the retaining legs are brought into engagement in immobilizing notches in the immobilizing sleeve. In accordance with the present invention, an immobilizer assembly is provided which allows both the securing and decoupling of the quick-connect coupling to be effected using manual power. According to the present invention this is obtained by means of a quick-connect coupling, of the kind mentioned above, characterized by the aspects that are pointed out in the characterizing part of the independent claim 1. In the following a detailed description of an embodiment of the present invention is given, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figures 1 a-b show side views of the quick connect coupling according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a detail of the quick connect coupling, according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figures 3a-b show a perspective view and a cross section, respectively, of another detail of the quick connect coupling according to an embodiment of the present invention; and Figures 4a-b show, in perspective view, the manner wherein two parts of the quick connect coupling according to one embodiment of the present invention mutually adjust. Figures 1 to 4 show an immobilizing assembly in the form of a key bolt 10, incorporated in a quick connection coupling 1, as well as detailed drawings of the three main components of the key bolt 10: a clamping bolt 1 1, an immobilizing block 12 and a retaining pin retainer 20. Figure 1 a shows a side view of the male pin 2 of the quick-connect coupling 1, guided towards a female part 6, before being turned 90 °; where the guide and retaining legs 3 are not brought to abut in the immobilizing notches 7. The immobilizing block 1 2 is seated in a notch 5 in the front piece 4 of the male pin 2, before being turned. Figure 1 b shows a similar side view of the coupling 1 of quick connection, after rotation of the male pin inside the female part 6, without the guide and retainer legs 3 being seated in the immobilizing notches 7. The clamping bolt 1 1 and the immobilizing block 12 of the immobilizing assembly 1 0 are rotated through 90 °, so that the clamping bolt 1 1 is allowed to slide, with gimp 1 1"in the upper diameter and in the lower diameter, in the notches 25, in a retaining bolt retainer 20 , which during the rotation is pushed down, using the thumb and stresses an underlying spring 27. Figure 2 shows a detailed, three-dimensional drawing of the pin 1 0 of the immobilizer assembly, which is operated axially between the male pin 2 and the female part 6, and which consists of a retaining pin 1 1 with cord 1 'in the opposite sections, to operate through a retaining pin retainer 20, a guide tab 1 3 and a quadrilateral locking block 12; the locking block 12 with the notch 5 in the cylindrical front piece 4 of the male pin 2 corresponds. Figure 3a shows a detailed three-dimensional drawing of the holding bolt retainer 20 having a cylindrical body 21 comprising a lower flange 22 and a flange upper 23; where a transverse hole 24 is centrally drilled through the body 21; the transverse hole 24 corresponding with the outer radius of the clamping bolt 1 1; and wherein a notch 25, which corresponds to the cord 1 1 'of the clamping bolt 1 1, extends from the hole 24. The upper flange 23 has an inclined surface 26, designed for the application of pressure with the thumb, through of a hole 9, with associated guide notches 8 in the female part, for use in the immobilization and unlocking. Figure 3b is a side view of the retaining pin retainer 20, showing the hole 24 and the notch 25. Figure 4a shows, in a three-dimensional drawing, the male pin 2 comprising guide and retention legs 3, and a front part 4, with notches 5 for the immobilizer block 12. Figure 4b shows a similar drawing of the female part 6, comprising a guide groove 8 and a hole 9 for the retaining bolt retainer.
