Abstract
The invention relates to an improved integral enclosure that can withstand highly corrosive environments and to a disassembly/assembly method for replacing the integral enclosure of a turbine or turbo-charger on offshore platforms. According to the invention, the condition of the turbine enclosure is assessed and if it needs to be replaced checks are carried out to ensure that the equipment is not in use, that the electrical equipment is powered down and that the fuel gas supply line is blocked, after which it is possible to begin disassembling the installations and accessories, the cooling ducts of the electrical generator, the atmospheric venting ducts, the stack, the frame, the expansion joint, the air intake ducts, the filter housing, the plenum and the gas generator enclosure and assembling the aforementioned equipment in the reverse order, i.e. assembling the gas generator enclosure, the plenum, the filter housing, etc. In addition, respective performance tests must be carried o ut, e.g. a sealing test.
