Abstract

The present inventive subject matter relates to an automated, consumer-driven, pre-production, seasonal vaccine reservation system for facilitating the efficient production, distribution, and/or administration of health-critical, long production-lead-time seasonal vaccines, or other pharmacological agents, whereby use of such a consumer-driven vaccine reservation system provides a highly effective means for substantially ensuring or guaranteeing that consumer demand for seasonal vaccine can be fully and consistently met, but without subjecting the producers of vaccine and/or other cognizant parties associated with the healthcare industry to undue financial risk. In addition to the physical elements comprising such a consumer-driven vaccine reservation system, the present invention also represents various unique operational methods for accurately matching seasonal vaccine supply with seasonal consumer demand, thereby substantially facilitating production, distribution, and/or timely administration of vaccine.

Description

IMMUNIZATION RESERVE SYSTEM IN PRE-PRODUCTION ACTIVATED BY CONSUMER DEMAND AND METHODS FOR USING A SYSTEM RESERVATION OF VACCINES BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates more broadly to computer-implemented electronic systems, which provide improved methods for accurately matching the supply of seasonal vaccines with the seasonal demand of the consumer, including improved methods for manage the production, distribution, administration and / or post-administration evaluation of seasonal vaccines (or other pharmacological agents critical for health or critical for life). More specifically, the present invention, in its preferred embodiments, refers to substantially automated vaccine reservation systems in pre-production, activated by the consumer to facilitate the efficient production, distribution, administration and / or post-administration evaluation of seasonal vaccines. long-term production waiting period, critical for health (eg, influenza virus vaccine or "influenza"), whereby, the use of such a vaccine reservation system activated by consumer demand, provides an effective means to ensure that consumer demand for vaccines Seasonal and seasonal changes can be fully and consistently met, but without subjecting vaccine producers, public health agencies, medical practitioners and / or other responsible parties within the broad health care industry to unnecessary financial risks. 2. BACKGROUND OF THE INDUSTRY Briefly, to meet the health care consumer's needs for annual or seasonal vaccines (eg, influenza or "flu" vaccine), the health care industry, along with the responsible health agencies, currently invests a considerable amount of time, effort and financial resources to ensure that such annual or seasonal vaccines are produced and distributed generally in sufficient quantities to fully meet consumer demand (ie, any person wishing to receive a vaccine has the opportunity to do so, although often through retribution). However, the health care industry and responsible government health agencies also use a considerable amount of time, effort and financial resources to avoid the wasteful expense associated with the excessive overproduction of unwanted vaccines, which, if not used during a particular season, typically they must be destroyed as a result of their limited shelf life and / or obsolescence. In consecuense, professionals in the health care industry and / or government authorities are thus generally required to simultaneously comply, to the greatest extent possible, with two frequently opposing objectives: (1) to provide good health care (eg, to ensure access total to vaccines) and (2) avoid excessive financial expense (eg, avoid a large overproduction of vaccines). To reliably fulfill both of these objectives, the broad health care industry requires a precise method to equate the supply of seasonal vaccines (i.e., establishing production and / or distribution amounts) with the seasonal demand of the consumer for the vaccine. However, due in large part to the prolonged process of vaccine production, to the highly variable nature of consumer demand and to the variable and somewhat unpredictable nature of various pathogens (such as the influenza virus), the care industry of health and government health agencies currently experience great difficulties and only limited success in their annual attempts to accurately match the supply of seasonal vaccines with the seasonal demand for vaccines. In more detail, it is noted first that vaccine producers would ideally prefer to produce vaccines based on the consumer's known demand during - - the season (e.g., the "flu" season). Unfortunately, the waiting time for vaccine production is sufficiently long in duration (eg, approximately four months in duration using existing mass production methods for the influenza virus vaccine) such that it is currently not economical and / or temporarily viable to produce vaccines based on consumer demand during the season. As a result, producers should instead try to accurately estimate or calculate (through previous statistics) the demand for vaccines during the coming season and then commit to specific production quantities several months before knowing the actual demand of the consumer. Furthermore, although all calculations are generally subject to some degree of error, this particular calculation exercise is made much more difficult by the highly variable (and often inconstant) seasonal demand for vaccines, which generally fluctuates in direct response to the seasonal threat , perceived by the health care consumer, to a given pathogen or strain thereof. The difficulties in calculating the demand are further exacerbated by the fact that certain pathogens, such as influenza, tend to mutate and / or change suddenly and even unreliably and with unknown severity. In addition, the mass media and more - - specifically, their ability to induce significant levels of hysteria in the large population can radically alter the demand for seasonal vaccines, long after they have required vaccine producers to establish production quantities and begin production. Finally, the current methods used to calculate the demand for seasonal vaccines (and, therefore, establish precise quantities of production), are, in practice, both a technique and a science. Consequently, such calculation methods tend to be highly unreliable and, therefore, expose both vaccine consumers and vaccine producers to considerable risks. 3. RELATED TECHNIQUE a. Description of the Prior Art There are a multitude of different reservation systems throughout the world for various commercial and non-commercial activities; however, the related art of interest, mainly in the form of current or conventional operational practices within the broad health care industry, to equate the supply of seasonal vaccines with the demand for seasonal vaccines, does not describe or suggest the present invention. . Briefly, the prior related technique provides several methods to try to match the supply and demand of seasonal vaccines. However, all such prior art methods typically attempt to equate supply and demand by estimating or calculating the future demand for seasonal vaccines (and, therefore, establish the production and / or distribution amounts of seasonal vaccines) based primarily on (1) the historical demand of the consumer for similar vaccines during previous temperadas and / or (2) the relative seasonal pathogenic threat perceived or estimated during the coming season. It should be noted that the prior art is incorporated primarily into the open literature and / or is evidenced by the common knowledge of those who have professional experience in a related field. Accordingly, no specific reference to the prior art (e.g., patents and the like) is cited herein. However, a closer review of the prior art (i.e., conventional operational practices commonly known within the health care industry to determine the quantities of production and / or distribution of vaccines) clearly reveals its many limitations. With reference to the limitations of the prior art, as noted previously, any method based on - - the calculation to equate the seasonal supply of vaccines with seasonal demand (ie, determining the appropriate quantities of production and / or distribution) generally results in a highly error-prone "compromise" between the two critically important simultaneous but typically opposite objectives of (1) ) ensure total access to vaccines and (2) avoid the expense and waste of a dense overproduction. To minimize the adverse consequences of the methods of the prior art, note that the associated commitment, which is typically incorporated in the form of a pre-season decision or commitment, for a specific production amount, is historically intentionally tilted toward a moderate amount of overproduction, in order to provide an adequate margin of security between supply and demand. If such opposing objectives are successfully managed for a given season, only a small amount of vaccines is produced in excess, resulting, as a result, in limited waste. Although seemingly producible, it should be emphasized that even a moderate amount of overproduction can be very costly. However, as a result of the difficulties inherent in the handling of these opposing objectives using such methods based on the calculation of the prior art (again, the difficulty is due in large part to the prolonged process of the production of vaccines, the highly variable nature of consumer demand, and the variable and somewhat unpredictable nature of various pathogens), methods based on the prior art calculation expose both vaccinators and vaccines to considerable risk. vaccine producers. Furthermore, as will be shown below, such long-established, industry-standard methods of calculating the seasonal supply of vaccines with seasonal demand have been (and remain) dangerously inaccurate. More specifically, it is important to note that these two opposing objectives of (1) provide good health care (eg, ensure full access to vaccines) and (2) avoid excessive or unnecessary financial expense (eg, avoid heavy overproduction). ) are generally applicable around the world; However, these opposing objectives are of critical importance in regions of the world that have health care systems activated by the market, based on free enterprise, such as the one currently found in the United States of America (EU). In more detail, note, for example, that the present quantities of annual vaccine production in such market-activated economies (eg, in the US), again, are generally based on the annual or seasonal historical demand of the vaccine consumer. , although the production quantities are adjusted typically because of perceived threat or relative risk (as perceived by health care industry professionals and / or staff representing government health agencies) during the upcoming "season" of new highly infectious strains and / or highly lethal of a pathogen (eg, influenza virus or "flu"). Although vaccine producers who work in concert with medical practitioners, government health agencies and / or other organizations, are generally able to calculate with reasonable accuracy consumer demand for a given year or season, they may be presented, nonetheless , major deficits (as well as excessive overproductions) of vaccines (and occur historically) resulting in severe consequences. As an example of method failures based on prior art calculation, note first that as a result of the unexpectedly low demand for influenza vaccine in the United States during the "flu" season of 2002-2003, many doses of vaccines were left unused, thus representing a significant financial loss for vaccine producers and / or others in the health care industry. As a second example of the failures of the prior art, note that, in response to the unexpectedly low demand for influenza vaccine during the flu season of the - - 2002-2003, vaccine producers reduced production quantities for the 2003-2004 influenza season based, partly on the low demand of the previous flu season. Unfortunately, the flu season of 2003-2004 started early and with unusual severity, consequently causing (1) all readily available doses of vaccine to be consumed very early within the flu season and (2) a general deficit of vaccines in most regions of the country. It is strongly emphasized that this deficit in the supply of vaccines resulted in unnecessary diseases, loss of life, loss of time at work and / or school, long waiting lines for administration of vaccines, rationing of vaccines by the government and providers to health care, panic or general hysteria in certain susceptible sectors of the population and numerous other adverse consequences to society, all because the methods based on the calculation of the prior art to equate the supply of seasonal vaccines and the The demand for seasonal vaccines was highly inaccurate for the given season. As a third example of prior art failures, note that, in response to the influenza vaccine deficit experienced during the 2003-2004 flu season, vaccine producers substantially increased the production quantities for the vaccine. - - flu season of 2004-2005 based, in part, on the supply deficit experienced during the previous flu season. Unfortunately, manufacturing difficulties (particularly contamination of vaccines during production at a larger producer) caused the irreversible loss of approximately half (or approximately 50 million doses) of the national flu vaccine supply for the flu season from 2004-2005. Consequently, for the second consecutive flu season, severe influenza vaccine deficits existed throughout most regions of the country. As might be expected, this deficit in the supply of vaccines again resulted in unnecessary diseases, loss of life, loss of time at work and / or school, long waiting lines for the administration of the vaccine, rationing of vaccines by the government and providers to health care, panic or general hysteria in certain susceptible sectors of the population and numerous other adverse consequences to society, all because the methods based on the calculation of the prior technique to equate the supply of seasonal vaccines and the demand for seasonal vaccines were, again, highly inaccurate for the given season. Considering these examples, it is clearly evident that the current methods based on the calculation of the technique - - previous to establish the quantities of vaccine production present very significant risks, both on the supply side for producers, and on the demand side for consumers. With regard to the risks on the demand side for health care consumers, note that these risks are greater for young children, the elderly and / or those with weakened immune systems, all of whom should generally receive the vaccine in a seasonal manner. flu. However, under the prior art methods, note that these people currently have no means to ensure that the vaccine will be available to them, thereby putting their health at risk. What's worse, for some of these health care consumers who might be classified as "high risk," reliable access to seasonal vaccines is often critical to maintaining health and / or preserving life. With reference to the risk on the supply side for vaccine producers, first notice that such health care companies will be expected to make every effort to minimize unnecessary financial risks. Furthermore, such producers simply can not afford to produce vaccines for all those who may want them; to do so it would require producers to produce several times (e.g., three to five times) the typical seasonal demand for vaccines, the vast majority of which would be rendered useless. Finally, such margin of excess or overproduction would, at least, be discarded, if not financially damaging or devastating for the producers of vaccines and / or for the governmental health agencies (or other entities) that ensure the investment of the producer. b. Disadvantages of the Prior Art In summary, the methods based on the calculation of the prior art to equate the supply of seasonal vaccines and the demand for seasonal vaccines, represent numerous disadvantages, both for the vaccine consumer and for the vaccine provider. . These many disadvantages of the prior art include, but are not limited to: 1. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to substantially secure access of a consumer individual to one or more seasonal vaccines (or to a particular type or form of vaccine). medically required), thereby seasonally exposing the intended consumer of vaccines to a risk of unnecessary infection, illness, loss of work or income, other adverse consequences and possibly death. 2. The prior art fails to provide - - some reliable means to accurately match the supply of seasonal vaccine and demand (i.e., establishing precise amounts of production and / or distribution), often leading to significant general and / or local imbalances between the supply and demand for vaccines. In addition to the possibility of subjecting the parties involved to severe health and / or economic consequences, the prior art also frequently forces personnel within the health care industry and / or government health agencies to implement plans of contingency to manage a significant vaccine deficit and / or its consequences. 3. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to capture or secure production costs (or a proxy thereof) of the consumer (and / or consumer representative or agent) prior to the provision and administration of the vaccine, thereby submitting to such producers and / or their financial underwriters (including government health agencies) at unnecessary financial risk. 4. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to accurately capture or obtain from consumers and provide vaccine producers with geographic information regarding consumers of intended vaccines, thereby making it difficult - - unnecessarily the geographical distribution of vaccines in a precise and timely manner. Thus, the methods of the prior art result in the possibility (and the actual occurrence) of local deficits and / or local over-supplies, regardless of the overall balance between supply and demand. 5. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to incite and / or encourage consumers to be vaccinated. Additionally, other than through general medical appointments or office visits, the prior art does not provide readily accessible means to schedule a simple vaccination, many of which are provided outside of the medical office (eg, at a community school gymnasium). a local grocery store or pharmacy and the like) and consequently, the existing medical infrastructure for appointments can not be effectively used. 6. The prior art fails to provide any effective means for the post-vaccination evaluation of one or more vaccines or other pharmacological agents. 7. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to allow individuals or other benefactors to provide or charitably donate one or more vaccines to those who need the vaccine but who have - 1 - insufficient financial means. 8. The prior art fails to provide any effective means to educate the consumer of the vaccine with respect to (1) the general and / or specific pathogenic risks or (2) the vaccines that may be available to mitigate or eliminate such risks. Additionally, the technique fails to provide the vaccine consumer with any effective means to plan or manage personal vaccinations over time. As the subsequent sections of this document are read, it will be quite clear that the prior art has numerous other disadvantages. Consequently, there remains the continuing general need within the global health care industry for a precise method to equate the annual or seasonal supply of vaccines (i.e., the amounts of production and / or distribution) with the seasonal demand of the consumer. These unfulfilled needs clearly underscore the value of the present invention that fully and uniquely meets each of these needs. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention, in its preferred embodiments, is an automated reserve system for seasonal, pre-production vaccines, activated by consumer demand to facilitate efficient production, - - distribution and administration of seasonal vaccines (or other pharmacological agents) critical to long-term health waiting for production, whereby the use of such a vaccine reservation system activated by consumer demand provides a means and / or method effective to ensure or substantially guarantee that consumer demand for seasonal vaccine can be fully and consistently met, but without subjecting vaccine producers and / or other responsible parties associated with the health care industry to improper financial risk. Figure 7 is a diagram. Schematic of the process flow of a typical (but optional) method of the present invention to evaluate the response of the consumer to the vaccine using a substantially automated seasonal vaccine reserve system, mainly activated by consumer demand, generally pre-production . DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE INVENTION The present invention, in its preferred embodiments, is a substantially automated vaccine reservation system, pre-production, activated by consumer demand to facilitate efficient evaluation (eg, accurate, economical and timely) of the production, - - distribution, administration and / or post-administration of critical vaccines for health, long-awaiting production such as, for example, seasonal influenza or "flu" virus vaccines. The implementation of such a vaccine reservation system activated by consumer demand provides a highly effective system and / or method to ensure or substantially guarantee that consumer demand for seasonal vaccines can be fully and consistently met, but without subjecting the producers of vaccines and / or other responsible parties with the health care industry at an improper financial risk. Briefly, Figure 1 represents the main physical elements that. they include such a vaccine reservation system activated by consumer demand, but also shows optional and / or redundant elements. Figures 2-7 represent several unique methods to facilitate the accurate, economical and / or timely evaluation of the production, distribution, administration and / or post-administration of seasonal vaccines (or other medical products critical for long-term production waiting health). ) using a substantially automated reserve system for seasonal vaccines, mainly activated by consumer demand, generally pre-production.
- - With reference to terminology, note that "substantially automated" indicates that the vaccine reservation system significantly utilizes one or more computerized electronic devices, operable computerized logic algorithms (and / or client software interfaces), and / or other diagnostic tools. automation to provide and / or operate a substantial portion of the system and / or the methods or functions performed by it. Additionally, "activated by consumer demand", as used herein, indicates that the consumer (or a representative thereof) has a primary responsibility to make a vaccine reservation using the vaccine reservation system of the present invention. , whereby such reservations made by the consumer will typically be used, but not necessarily, as an aid to establish or "activate" significantly or substantially the production quantities. In addition, "pre-production" indicates that reservations can be made substantially prior to the start of vaccine production, whereby such pre-production reservations have the ability to affect or influence the quantities of vaccine that will be produced. It is noted that Figures 1-7, in concert with the description of the invention as presented herein, provide several specific embodiments (or parts of the - - same) of the present invention; however, it is emphasized that the invention is not limited to the specific examples of the physical systems and / or the improved methods depicted or described in the present. More specifically, the present invention provides numerous alternative configurations of these systems and / or methods, including various combinations, simplifications and / or other modifications thereof, without departing from the nature of the invention. Additionally, although the invention described herein is described primarily as several improved means and / or methods for facilitating the production, distribution and / or administration of seasonal vaccines, it is noted that the present invention is also highly applicable to other pharmacological agents, whose non-limiting examples may include anti-biological combat agents and / or other agents recently developed and / or of limited availability. Typical Advantages Over the Prior Art The present invention, in one or more of its preferred embodiments, is typically superior to the related art (ie, current operational practices within the health care industry to produce, distribute and / or administer seasonal vaccines) in at least eight significant aspects: First, the present invention in its - - Preferred embodiments, is superior to the prior art in that it is operable to ensure or substantially guarantee access to vaccines for all consumers who choose to reserve a vaccine prior to its production. In contrast, current operational medical practices do not provide such a reserve system, thus exposing the health care consumer to an unnecessary risk of infection and possibly death, not providing guaranteed access to vaccines. In addition, there is no clear suggestion within the open literature (or otherwise within the health care industry) that the health care industry has contemplated the improved systems and / or methods as proposed in the present or the benefits thereof. Second, the present invention, in one or more of its embodiments, is superior to the related technique in that it provides an extremely accurate method for equating seasonal supply with seasonal demand, thus significantly mitigating both the risk of low production (ie, deficits). ) of vaccines, such as the risk of costly overproduction. In contrast, as noted above, the prior art fails to provide any provision to accurately match the supply and demand for seasonal vaccines, often leading to significant imbalances between supply and demand. - - demand for vaccines, thus causing severe health and / or economic consequences. Third, the present invention, in one or more of its embodiments, is superior to the related art in that it ensures that vaccine producers will be appropriately compensated substantially for all vaccines reserved by the consumer on a pre-production basis, thereby mitigating significantly the financial risks for the producers, of vaccines. In contrast, the related art does not provide means to capture or secure production costs (or a proxy thereof) of the consumer (and / or consumer representative or agent) prior to the provision and administration of the vaccine, thereby subjecting such producers and / or their financial underwriters (including government health agencies) at a significant financial risk. Such human interface remote devices 16 are generally electronically connected to the computerized system 14 and therefore, to the database 12 by existing electronic communications infrastructure 18, whose non-limiting examples optionally include, internet, wired or wireless electronic networks, and / or telephone lines, using one or more connection devices or allowing connection 20 typically (but not necessarily) commercially available which optionally include, as non-limiting examples, routers, servers, modems, and / or the like (not specifically shown). In greater detail, the electronic database 12 is preferably (but not necessarily) an implementation configured by design (or configured by the client) of a software algorithm of the electronic database generally commercially available, capable of receiving, storing, processing (optionally), and / or outputting one or more vaccine reservation records, wherein each record comprises one or more data fields related to a particular vaccine reserve for a particular individual or group (such as a family) . It is anticipated that the database 12 may optionally also output various results derived from selecting, analyzing, adding - - and / or otherwise processing the reservation records contained therein for one or more useful processes as described herein or as are known to the user of the database 12. It is noted that any database can be implemented suitable electronics, which can be configured by design, commercially available, (eg, Sybase®, Oracle®, Microsoft® Access and the like) to provide database 12; however, optionally, fully-designed software algorithms can be used to provide all or part of the database system 12. It is further noted that any commercially available and / or made by design application and / or auxiliary sub-application can be used. part of or in concert with, the database 12 to process the data records contained therein, and / or to enter and / or output the information from the database 12. The specific apparatus, methods and / or tools for implementing such a database 12, as well as for manipulating the records contained therein, are well known to those skilled in the art and, therefore, do not require a further description herein. The computerized electronic system 14 comprises one or more electronic computers 15, typically (but not necessarily) commercially available (i.e., computerized devices) that optionally include, as - - non-limiting examples, a micro-computer, mini-computer, central computer, workstation, server, laptop, personal digital assistant (PDA), and / or other computerized electronic devices that have a means to receive, store, process and / o outputting information related to one or more vaccine reservations (ie, capable of housing all or part of the database 12 and / or capable of handling, transporting, communicating and / or otherwise processing one or more of the data records contained in the database 12 and / or derived from the database 12). In the case of using a plurality of computerized electronic devices 15 to provide the computerized electronic system 14, one or more of such computerized devices 15 are generally (but not necessarily) networked as shown in Figure 1 (as an example not limiting the connection of the computerized devices 15) to form a high performance integrated system and / or to provide a system that has redundant capabilities in the event of failure or other damage of one or more of the computerized devices 15. It is noted that one or more of the many peripheral standard elements and / or accessories of such computerized devices, such as those commonly known to those skilled in the art, are optionally incorporated into the computerized system 14 and / or the computerized device - - 15. Non-limiting examples include keyboards, pointing devices, visual display devices, various read / write media devices, microphones, sound emitting devices and / or the like. The human interface device 16 for entering and / or retrieving the vaccine reservation information from the electronic database 12 is preferably (but not necessarily) a computerized electronic device connected to the internet, optionally similar to one or more of the electronic devices computerized 15 used to host the database 12 as noted above, more specifically, to enter a reserve of vaccines into the database (ie, "make a vaccine reservation") as per the consumer or a consumer representative (being a system or method "activated by consumer demand"), the preferred human interface device 16 is a micro-computer, laptop, PDA and / or similar consumer-owned, internet-connected (or otherwise electronically connected). It should be emphasized that by employing such computerized devices owned and / or operated by the consumer to access the database 12, the capital cost of the implementation of the present invention, on a national or global scale, is extremely low. To facilitate the completion of the reservation, - - anticipates that a suitable graphical user interface (GUI) is presented (ie, displayed), such as a filled electronic form, to the consumer-user through a human interface device 16, which typically has at least one device or display visual display The methods for presenting and / or collecting the information using an interactive graphical user interface are commonly known to those skilled in the art and, therefore, no additional description is necessary herein. However, it should be noted that a typical electronic form, which can be presented to the user by a human interface device 16 to facilitate the reservation of one or more vaccines, would typically (but not necessarily) include one or more data fields marked for filling, whose non-limiting examples may include: name, identification number (s), address, telephone number, age, gender, type or types of preferred vaccine, insurance company data, payment information and / or the like, more typically ( but not necessarily) one or more "radio" buttons to start the process (typically on the screen) so that they can be used (eg, electronically activated or "pulsed" through a pointing device or other human interface device 16) to send , edit and / or cancel a reservation, and / or to initiate or terminate one or more different functions related to the - - present invention. The invention provides that the vaccine reservation system 10 may incorporate, either alternatively or additionally, one or more alternate devices 16, methods and / or means for introducing one or more vaccine reservations into the database 12, which optionally include , as non-limiting examples: (1) a telephone entry system activated by a menu, (2) a voice-based telephone entry system (not shown), (3) an optional voice-based telephone entry system that processes reservations by voice recognition means (not shown), (4) a form of human-assisted reservation entry based on fax (not shown), (5) a reservation entry form based on a fax processed by acknowledgment optical character (not shown), (6) means of entry by electronic mail and / or by normal mail (not shown) optionally assisted by humans and / or assisted by means of optical character recognition, (7) a paper-based medium employing a human recorder (not shown) that will subsequently enter the reservation into the database 12 via a human interface device 16, (8) an electronic patient care / medical records system optionally networked (or other personal records system, such as one that can be provided by a school, employer, government, and / or military service) - - optionally capable of automatically selecting and / or reserving one or more vaccines (and / or providing data to the computerized system 14 to allow the system 14 to automatically select and / or reserve one or more vaccines, such as by using a database 12 operable and / or other software hosted in the system 14) for one or more persons, optionally based on the individual personal data contained in the medical records system (or others) and / or the like. With respect to the existing electronic communications infrastructure 18, it is noted that the internet is the generally preferred means and / or method for interconnecting the computerized system 14 that hosts the database 12 with the human interface device 16 typically (but not necessarily ) remote. However, the invention provides that numerous other means and / or methods of interconnection may be employed for this purpose, optionally including, as non-limiting examples, one or more standard telephone lines, direct subscriber lines (DSL), satellite links (not shown). ), other electromagnetic links such as radio frequency (RF) links, (eg, wireless network, "wi-fi", cell phone), infrared links, ultrasonic and / or other acoustic links (not shown) and / or the like . It should be noted that such wireless communications technologies (media and / or - - methods) can greatly facilitate the operations associated with making reservations and / or with the production, distribution and / or administration of vaccines. As noted above, various substantially automated connection devices 20 typically (but not necessarily) are commercially available, to facilitate or allow interconnection of the computerized system 14, its individual computing elements 15 and / or the various human interface devices 16. , wherein the connection device 20 may optionally include, as non-limiting examples, one or more routers, servers, modems, and / or the like. However, the invention provides that one or more persons may also be used to transfer information related to one or more reservations between the various elements of the system, and / or between the various elements of the system and the primary users of the system (eg, consumers). of vaccines). Although not a preferred method of operation of the vaccine reserve system 10, the optional addition of a human assistant (not shown) to the vaccine reserve system 10 dramatically increases the versatility of the system 10, especially with respect to performing the vaccine. reserve for vaccine consumers (and / or other users of the system including consumer representatives, producers, boarding personnel, - - distributors, vaccine administrators and the like) that have either limited ability or no ability to use the various human interface devices 16 based on technology. Additionally, the invention provides that the vaccine reservation system 10 can optionally be operated in (and / or optionally provides a means and / or method for operating in) multiple spoken and / or written languages (eg, English, Spanish, French, German , Japanese and / or other languages). Additionally, the invention provides that the vaccine reservation system can optionally assist directly with the translation between different languages (in spoken and / or written form) to facilitate the reservation, production, distribution and / or administration of vaccines, the latter being especially useful in highly bilingual or polyglot regions of the world, but also in regions dominated by a single language, where it may be unlikely to find a suitable human interpreter. Figures 2-7. Systems and / or Improved Methods to Produce, Distribute, Administer and / or Evaluate Vaccines: In addition to the physical elements that comprise the vaccine reservation system 10 activated by consumer demand, (including hardware, software, electronic communications infrastructure, and / or other elements), the preferred embodiments of the present - - invention typically represent and / or comprise one or more methods or improved means to facilitate the efficient evaluation of production, distribution, administration and / or post-administration of seasonal vaccines (or other pharmacological agents critical to the long-term waiting health of production). Such improved methods may optionally include, as non-limiting examples: (1) an optionally automated method and / or means to substantially guarantee access of a particular individual (or group) to one or more doses of vaccines for sustaining the health and / or life support, through an individual (or group) reservation made generally, but not necessarily, on a pre-production basis, using the vaccine reservation system 10; (2) an optionally automated method and / or means 40 for mitigating the financial risk of producing vaccines for vaccine producers, by providing an optionally automated method and / or means to process compensation to insure the vaccine consumer ( or from the consumer's representative) a pre-production payment and / or other financial commitment (such as a refundable monetary deposit that is reimbursed when administering the vaccine if the vaccine service and / or vaccine administration is subsequently charged to a third party) (3) an optionally optional method and / or means 50 - - automated to accurately match (eg, precisely) the supply of seasonal vaccines (ie, production quantities) with seasonal consumer demand, requesting from database 12 the total number and / or type of vaccine reservations, mitigating both the health risks due to a deficit and the financial risks due to overproduction; (4) an optional method and / or means for facilitating the precise (e.g., precise) regional and / or local distribution of vaccines by requesting the geographic information of the consumer optionally contained in the database 12; (5) an optionally automated method and / or means 70 for alerting vaccine consumers of availability and / or reminding consumers of an appointment for vaccine administration, optionally by automated generation and / or transmission of the vaccines; appropriate communications for such consumers; and / or (6) an optionally automated method and / or means 80 for evaluating the efficacy of and / or any adverse reaction to, seasonal vaccines by providing various electronic feedback mechanisms to the consumer optionally including, as a non-limiting example, a form or interactive electronic survey of the type of filling presented to the consumer by means of a computer connected to the Internet or other suitable mechanism of human interface 16.
- - Additionally, several of the above methods or means may be modified to carry out one or more different useful functions, as will be shown below. Figure 2. Description and Operation as a System and / or Method for Substantially Guaranteeing Access to Vaccines: Figure 2 represents an improved method of the present invention in a first preferred embodiment, comprising a method and / or substantially automated means for substantially guarantee the access of a particular individual (or group) to one or more doses of vaccine for the maintenance of health and / or the support of life, through an individual (or group) reservation made generally, but not necessarily, over a pre-production base, using the vaccine reserve system 10. Briefly, system 10 and vaccine reserve method 30 work in concert to substantially guarantee (except in extreme, unanticipated adverse circumstances) access to vaccines, generally through the reservation by the consumer of the vaccine (or any authorized individual or organization acting in favor of the consumer) of at least a vaccine on behalf of the consumer (or by other means of identification), generally, but not necessarily, prior to the start of production. The process of reserving a vaccine is achieved - - generally (but not necessarily) substantially by use by the consumer (or his representative) of an electronic human interface device 16 (such as, for example, an electronic reservation form for filling presented in a computer terminal connected to the internet, a telephone entry system activated by menu or by other methods noted above) to enter the necessary personal information into the database 12, as required, to secure one or more vaccine reservations. The confirmation of the vaccine reservation is optionally provided, generally to the consumer (or a representative thereof) automatically through the reservation system 10 and / or its operators, typically using one or more of the aforementioned communication processes (eg, internet , email, normal mail, telephone, cell phone, PDA, facsimile transmission and the like) and / or devices 16. In greater detail, as shown in Figure 2, method 30 to substantially guarantee access to vaccines using the vaccine reserve system 10 activated by consumer demand, it typically comprises the following steps: providing a suitable vaccine reserve system 10 that allows direct use by the consumer of - - vaccines (or the consumer's representative) as a means to reserve one or more vaccines (or other pharmacological agents); having the vaccine consumer (or consumer representative) evaluate the need for vaccination and then select to reserve one or more suitable vaccines to substantially guarantee the availability of such vaccines to the consumer; making the vaccine consumer (or the consumer's representative) electronically access the vaccine reservation system 10 typically by means of an optionally remote human interface device 16 to enter into the database 12 the data required to reserve one or more vaccines , typically (but not necessarily) on a pre-production basis; have one or more vaccine producers collectively produce vaccines in sufficient quantities to fully meet the needs of all consumers who have vaccine reservations; distribute vaccines to vaccine administration personnel, or, optionally, to the consumer (or consumer representative) optionally for self-administration, if the vaccine is in an adequate safe form (eg, nasal, oral spray) to allow self-administration; Y - - administering the vaccine for sustaining health and / or for sustaining the life of the vaccine consumer, as was substantially guaranteed, using the vaccine reserve system 10. It should be noted that one or more of the preceding steps of method 30 may be contain a plurality of sub-stages; however, the summary of steps presented above, especially when considered in combination with other descriptions and / or representations of the present invention as described herein, is more than adequate to fully convey to the person skilled in the art the fundamental nature of method 30, as well as, how to implement and operate method 30 using the vaccine reserve system 10. However, note that the proportion of an adequate vaccine reserve system for the above step 100, generally comprises providing a suitable electronic backup database 12 that provides at least one computer electronic system 14 preferably (but not necessarily) connected to the internet having at least one storage means 17 configured to host the database 12 and further provide a means or human interface device 16 typically (but not necessarily) remote (ie, an input / output means, such as another computerized electronic system connected to - - internet, a telephone system activated by a menu, an electronic system of medical records / patient care connected in a network or a personal registry system optionally capable of automatically selecting and / or reserving one or more vaccines, and / or the like) for its use by the consumer or the consumer's representative when making a reservation. Note that the consumer "representative" may include, as non-limiting examples, the consumer's guardian, the consumer's health care professional (eg, doctor, nurse, insurance company), the employer or the consumer's school, a benefactor and / or similar. Additionally, note that the operation of the apparatus 10 as provided in step 100 to simply (or solely) reserve one or more vaccines using method 30, generally requires only the additional performance of at least stages 200 and 300. Although the performance of only stages 100, 200 and 300 to reserve a vaccine may not fully guarantee final access to the vaccine, however it can provide or establish a valuable priority to receive vaccines in the future. However, steps 400, 500 and / or 600 may optionally be performed to achieve their respective functions and / or benefits, as described herein and / or as shown in Figure 2, optionally including, but not necessarily limited to, , - - substantially guarantee access to one or more vaccines, if all required stages are duly carried out. The basic method 30 for guaranteeing access to vaccines using the vaccine reserve system 10 can be altered, modified, and / or provided in numerous ways. Briefly, the present invention provides numerous supplemental and / or alternative modalities optionally including, as non-limiting examples: various supplementary and / or alternate systems and / or methods relating to the reserve, production, distribution, administration, and / or evaluation of vaccines , whereby such systems and / or supplemental methods provide a significant benefit for one or more vaccine consumers and / or one or more vaccine providers. In summary, the present invention provides several primary and / or optional "modules" (ie, substantially automated systems and / or substantially automated methods), which include, as non-limiting examples: one or more modules for: (1) reserving one or more more vaccines, preferably on a pre-production basis (a primary system and / or a primary operational method of the present invention); (2) educate the consumer about vaccines and / or vaccine administration and, optionally, other related topics; - - (3) plan and / or manage staff and / or vaccination groups in the past, present and / or future past; (4) provide reserve functions of supplemental and / or alternate vaccines, such as charitable donation (i.e., donations) of one or more vaccines and / or registration of those who need a donated or charitable donated vaccine; (5) process compensation for one or more vaccines and / or for one or more articles and / or services related to vaccines; (6) efficiently produce vaccines; and / or optionally managing the facilities and / or the vaccine production personnel; (7) efficiently distribute vaccines, and / or optionally manage facilities and / or vaccine distribution personnel; (8) administer vaccines efficiently; and / or optionally managing facilities and / or vaccine administration personnel; (9) report and / or evaluate the efficacy of the vaccines and / or the quality of the articles and / or services related to vaccines; (10) verify compliance with one or more protocols and / or vaccine requirements; (11) 'provide information security and / or financial security to one or more vaccine consumers and / or - - related entities; (12) limit the legal and / or financial responsibility of one or more producers and / or other vaccine providers; and / or (13) provide an operation in multiple languages and / or with a language translator within the basic vaccine reservation system and / or its alternate modalities. Note that each of the alternate and / or supplemental (i.e., non-primary) modes listed above (e.g., concepts 2-13) can be described as an optional accessory "module" comprising one or more systems and / or methods. However, it is emphasized that certain modules may not be "optional" when carrying out one or more of the specific functions. Each of these alternate and / or supplemental modalities will be discussed in more detail below herein. It is further emphasized that the present invention anticipates that such optional modules (ie, optional systems and / or optional methods) may be incorporated in the basic method 30 and / or system 10 into a combination useful for one or more of the purposes described herein. and / or as known to the user of the present invention. In addition, the invention provides that one or more optional systems and / or optional methods (i.e., optional modules) and / or operated independently of method 30 and / or can be implemented. of the system 10. In addition, the invention anticipates that method 30 and / or system 10 may be used for other useful purposes (and / or to achieve other useful results)) in departing from the nature of the invention. 2. Systems and / or Supplemental Methods for Educating Vaccine Consumers To improve the general understanding of the consumer of vaccines about pathogenic threats, available vaccines, typical vaccination procedures, and / or specific requirements for vaccination (but also to improve the ability of the consumer of vaccines to utilize the subject vaccine reservation system), the present invention optionally further provides for the provision of one or more systems and / or substantially automated methods operable to educate the vaccine consumer and / or the vaccine consumer representative, as well as any other user of the system. In particular, the invention provides for the provision of one or more optional, substantially automated educational modules addressed to topics that include, as non-limiting examples: (1) infectious pathogens that place potential consumers at a general health risk; (2) typical vaccines that can be used to mitigate such threats or pathogenic risks; (3) typical vaccination programs indicating the - - vaccinations required and / or recommended, e.g., series of pediatric or "infantile" vaccinations (i.e., pediatric vaccination course); (4) specific pathogenic threats, optionally in real time, current and / or predicted for a particular geographic region; and / or (5) specific vaccines that may be either appropriate or inappropriate for a particular consumer, typically based on personal data (eg, age, gender, existing medical conditions, medications taken by the consumer, and / or other personal attributes) ). Additionally, the invention optionally provides the provision of one or more optional, substantially automated educational modules (systems and / or methods) directed to one or more complementary techniques not related to vaccines to mitigate the risks in which they place the pathogenic threats, whose non-limiting examples optionally include: (1) maintain a healthy immune system through diet, dietary supplements, physical exercise, and / or appropriate rest, (2) maintain proper personal hygiene and / or environmental cleanliness, (3) maintain reduced levels of physical stress and / or psychological and / or (4) avoid or minimize close contact with carriers and / or possible known carriers of pathogenic infections. In addition, the invention optionally provides providing one or more educational modules substantially - - automated devices that describe the proper use of the basic vaccine reserve system of the present invention (e.g., describing one or more of its systems, elements, methods, operating procedures, preferred practices, and / or the like). Additional and / or expanded educational modules may optionally be provided to further describe the appropriate use of one or more supplementary and / or alternative aspects of the present invention. Note that such educational modules may optionally be incorporated within the vaccine reservation system as a separate module that is preferably (but not necessarily) used before operating the other modules (i.e., systems and / or methods) of the present invention. However, such additional modules may be alternatively and / or supplementally incorporated into one or more of the other primary, supplemental, and / or alternative modules (ie, systems and / or methods) of the present invention, such as the management systems. and optional vaccine planning mentioned above, which will be described in more detail later. Note that either by incorporating or electronically linking one or more educational modules within one or more of the other modules (ie, systems and / or methods) of the invention, the user of a particular system will be able to easily access information related to the particular system or function (or access another - - information selected by the user) while working within that particular system or module. However, one or more modules may be incorporated within system 10 and / or method 30 of forms such as modification step 200 to optionally include one or more sub-steps (not shown) including, as non-limiting examples: a step for providing and storing in a retrievable form predetermined educational information in the storage medium 17; a step to provide a retrievable information system (preferably, but not necessarily, a commercially available "network server" or the like) operable to retrieve and present the stored educational information to a user or operator through a human interface 16; and optionally operating the retrieval system to access the stored educational information by operably selecting (such as through the use of an indicator device or other human interface device 16) one or more educational information items that will be accessed. It is anticipated that such educational information will typically, but not necessarily, be presented to the user in the form of short articles, graphic illustrations, and / or digital video and / or audio files; however, to promote structured learning, note that stored educational information can optionally be presented to the user in - - way of one or more educational tutors. To extend the range of information available to the system operator 10 (if an appropriate human interface device 16 is used), the present invention further provides providing one or more optional dynamic electronic links (eg, hyperlinks) to access with related information. with vaccine (or other information) provided and stored by one or more external entities (eg, such information may be provided on the "web site" of the Centers for Disease Control or CDC, based in the United States). Similarly, the present invention also optionally provides optionally providing dynamic electronic links to commercial and / or non-commercial entities related to vaccine and further provides providing an optional commercial advertising space in a visual display or other type of human interface 16 (such as incorporating advertising space within a predetermined region of a graphical user interface, electronic form, Internet network page, and / or the like). Note that such advertising space can provide a source of advertising revenue, which can be used to maintain or improve a vaccine reservation system implemented. Considering the highly critical functions and the specialized market sector to which the present invention (i.e., vaccines and / or vaccine-related services), there is an excellent opportunity for highly objective advertising within a wider vaccine-related economic community. To exploit this economic opportunity, the present invention further provides optionally providing one or more systems and / or substantially automated compensation processing methods operable to collect advertising revenues and / or referred revenues, such as one or more of the many systems and / or methods known to those skilled in the art. 3. Supplementary Systems and / or Methods for Planning and Managing Consumer Vaccinations. To facilitate proper selection, efficient programming, and / or to document one or more vaccines, the present invention further provides providing one or more systems and / or substantially automated methods for planning and / or handling personal vaccinations, including optionally past temporary vaccinations, present and / or future. With respect to general configuration and operation, note first that the substantially automated vaccine management and planning system (or module) typically operates (1) by collecting and / or entering data pertinent to the current life status of the prospective vaccine consumer including specific personal and / or medical information; (2) collecting and / or entering the data referring to the requirements and / or recommendations of the vaccination; (3) collecting and / or entering data concerning specific vaccines, preferably including specific limitations and / or prohibitions on use; (4) logically comparing the data collected and / or introduced above to determine which vaccine or vaccines are appropriate, inappropriate, and / or prohibited for use by the prospective vaccine consumer based on the current state of life of the consumer; (5) reporting the results to the user or operator for review, modification, and / or acceptance; and (6) optionally documenting one or more acceptable vaccinations, preferably, optionally electronically storing the vaccines accepted by the user in an acceptable format to provide an optional electronic "Personal Vaccination Plan" (or equivalent) for subsequent use, in which an analysis can be carried out optionally - - rigorous and understandable to determine one or more appropriate vaccinations for the prospective vaccine consumer, which requires a minimum effort from the user of the vaccine planning and management system. In addition to the general processes described above, note that the vaccine planning and management system can be optionally configured to further act during the "Personal Vaccination Plan" and / or one or more of the vaccinations provided herein, examples of which will be described later in the present. Regarding implementation, note that a relatively simple form of a vaccine planning and management system or module (comprising one or more systems and / or methods) can be easily implemented in ways such as modifying the vaccine reserve system 10 and method 30. In particular, the implementation typically requires step 200 of method 30 to provide through sub-step 210 (not shown) one or more information gathering and / or information input devices properly configured operable to request and collect electronically (and / or operable to access stored data to collect) one or more data items from one or more data sources; collecting and / or accessing relevant information or data through sub-step 220 (not shown), which includes - - typically, but not necessarily, (a) personal data and / or medical data of the prospective vaccine consumer, (b) vaccination requirements data (eg, the pediatric medical requirement to send pediatric series, a travel requirement to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever or another pathogenic threat, a school requirement that a student should be vaccinated against polio or other diseases and the like) and (c) vaccine data that includes appropriate, inappropriate and / or prohibited uses of the vaccine; logically comparing through sub step 230 (not shown) the data collected and / or entered using an appropriately provided operable logical computer algorithm (not shown) to determine one or more vaccinations that are appropriate and / or inappropriate (eg, potentially unsafe) ) for the prospective vaccine consumer; and reporting to a user of the system through sub-step 240 (not shown) information regarding one or more appropriate and / or inappropriate vaccines for the prospective vaccine consumer. In more detail, note that several systems and / or optional processes may be provided to collect or have access to information required to select one or more appropriate vaccines for a prospective vaccine consumer (and / or to collect or access data for other purposes). described herein). As an example - 1 4 - not limiting, the data may be collected by a human interface device 16 using one or more electronic fill-type forms such as those previously described, optionally including one or more menu selections to facilitate the introduction of different types of data and / or Select from several menu options presented. As a second non-limiting example, the data may be collected by electronically linking the one or more recoverable data sources, such one or more electronic databases 12 and / or one or more different electronic files containing the required information. In particular, note that personal or lifestyle data related to the prospective vaccine consumer may be requested and collected directly from the consumer or other user of system 10 and / or method 30, such as by using one or more electronic forms of filling, and / or alternatively collected by linking electronically to one or more electronic medical records and / or other electronic personal record (or personal) systems that contain appropriate information about the prospective vaccine consumer. Similarly, data related to vaccination requirements can be collected and / or accessed through systems, processes and / or similar methods. However, for precision purposes and - - efficiency, the preferred method for collecting data on vaccination requirements is by linking electronically to one or more electronic sources of such data, preferably provided (and regularly updated) by the entity that has the responsibility to establish and / or reinforce such immunization requirements. As a non-limiting example, it is anticipated that vaccination requirements to enroll an infant in a school can be obtained by electronically linking to the electronic data prepared, housed and / or provided by the particular authorities of the school and / or by the health agency. local public. In addition, data relating to one or more vaccines, including appropriate, inappropriate and / or prohibited uses of such vaccines, may also be collected and / or accessed through systems, processes and / or similar methods. Again, for precision and efficiency purposes, the preferred method for collecting such vaccination data is by electronically linking to one or more electronic sources of such data, preferably provided (and regularly updated) by the entity or entities that are responsible for developing , regulate and / or administer such vaccines. As a non-limiting example, the invention anticipates providing access to such vaccine data by electronically linking to data - 1 - electronic devices prepared, housed and / or provided by one or more agencies, such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC). It is anticipated that information regarding the consumer, vaccine requirements, and / or vaccines, may optionally be provided on and subsequently retrieved or collected from, one or more electronically readable storage media, such as a compact disc (CD) and / or Similary; however, the reader is cautioned that the information contained therein may be subject to rapid obsolescence. As noted above, the present invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method for screening prospective vaccine consumers for possible adverse reactions to the vaccine. As noted above, such a "Visualization System" is also useful to assist in the process of selecting the most appropriate vaccines for a prospective vaccine consumer, typically based on the current state of life of the prospective vaccine consumer, the requirements of vaccination and specific vaccine information. Now, in greater detail, it is typically necessary to logically acquire and compare significant amounts of data to appropriately examine the prospective vaccine consumer. In particular, typically (but not - - necessarily) large amount of personal data collected from the prospective consumer may include, as non-limiting examples: age, gender, general health status, existing specific medical conditions, current medications, known allergies, previous vaccinations, and / or other relevant data. Similarly, proper visualization requires a significant amount of data for each prospective vaccine, the non-limiting examples of which typically include: a tendency to induce allergic responses; age or ages not appropriate for vaccination; other medication conditions for which the vaccine is not appropriate; possible and / or known adverse interactions with other vaccines, medications and / or other pharmacological agents; and the similar. Considering the critical health nature of proper visualization of consumers by potential adverse interactions with the vaccine, the value of such a substantially automated system that is operable to logically collect and compare the vast amounts of relevant data, typically with relatively little or no assistance human, should not be underestimated. Accordingly, the invention anticipates that the display system can be used in a valuable way as a substantially independent system, which can be easily configured simply by modifying the system 10 and the method 30 to incorporate only - - the necessary elements and functions, each of which has been previously defined, as required to carry out the visualization function. In addition to the process described above, the vaccine planning and management system can be configured to also act with the "personal vaccination plan" (or equivalent electronic file) and / or one or more of the prospective vaccinations contained therein. As a non-limiting example, note that the electronically stored personal vaccination plan (or the information in one or more prospective vaccinations) can optionally be sent automatically (using the system 10 by any practical method of electronic communications, such as those described herein). or as known to the person skilled in the art) to the intended consumer of the vaccine consumer and / or other competent person, whereby the physician and / or other competent person can review, modify, reject and / or accept the vaccination plan personnel or portions thereof and optionally certify their review and / or approval (or authorization) of the plan, such as by providing a digital signature using an optionally provided digital signature registration device, which is another example of the human interface device 16. Note that this medical review process provides an effective method to ensure - - Additionally, the integrity and safety of a particular personal vaccination plan. As a second non-limiting example, the electronically stored personal vaccination plan (or equivalent electronic file) can optionally be used as the data source for one or more vaccines that need to be programmed and / or temporarily and / or spatially reserved (eg, geographically) . In particular, optionally providing and also using the "substantially automated" vaccination programming system, spatial-temporal appointments for one or more future vaccinations can be programmed quickly and easily, such as additionally (1) collecting (and / or having access to) ) the personal program of one or more prospective vaccine consumers, one or more programs concerning the availability of the vaccine and one or more programs for the vaccine administration personnel and / or a vaccine administration facility, and (2) logically comparing these programs to determine one or more mutually acceptable spatial-temporal appointments to administer the vaccine to one or more prospective vaccine consumers, whereby a potentially complicated program process may be completed by the user of system 10 and method 30 ( as was previously increased) with relatively little effort. Additionally, you can have access to the data of - - vaccination contained in the electronic personal vaccination plan (or equivalent electronic file) (or transmitted to) through the vaccine reservation module (generally, system 10 operating in conjunction with step 300 of method 30) to substantially reserve automatic one or more (or all) vaccinations identified in a single reservation transaction or, optionally, multiple transactions. Accordingly, by optionally operating the annotated reservation module in conjunction with other optional modules of the present invention (in particular, the planning and management module), the system 10 is therefore operable to almost instantaneously plan, schedule and / or reserve one or more vaccinations and / or one or more complex series of vaccinations, such as the pediatric series mentioned above, while requiring only some simple instructions by the user of the vaccine reservation system 10. The present invention also provides, optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to remind prospective vaccine consumers of the need for regular vaccinations, such as a seasonal influenza vaccine or perhaps a tetanus booster vaccination, which is provided infrequently (typically every ten years) that even the most diligent consumer of vaccines tends to forget when - - wins the next tetanus booster. Such reminders can be easily generated by the system 10 simply by periodically communicating to the consumer of vaccines (or consumer representative) the general need for one or more unplanned vaccinations or, alternatively, one or more previously planned or scheduled vaccinations, as they can typically be stored in a personal vaccination plan as described above (or in an electronic equivalent file), typically using one or more of the communication methods described herein. Note that such reminders tend to significantly improve the likelihood that a prospective vaccine consumer will remember to plan, schedule, reserve and / or report for one or more vaccinations. The present invention further provides, optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to collect, evaluate and / or report general pathogenic threats to the consumer of vaccines, optionally including historical threats, real threats, and / or forecasted threats, the results of which can be used either for general information or as an optional data source (such as for step 220) to be evaluated (such as by step 230) when planning vaccinations that may be required and / or recommended. Note that threat data can be collected by various methods, such as - - as simply by electronically linking the system 10 to an external source of threat information, such as the disease control center or similar organizations, which compile periodically and make such threat data available. Alternatively, the system 10 can optionally be used to request welfare data directly from the users of the system 10, whereby the users' disease reports can be analyzed and compiled by the system 10, and / or reported directly to the users of the system. and / or to one or more external organizations such as the CDC. Additionally, the system 10 can optionally be instructed to alert one or more users of the system provided that the pathogenic threat rises above a predetermined level, where the pathogenic threat can be determined by electronic link to an external data source of threat such as the CDC and / or determined by evaluating the disease data provided by the user. The present invention also provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to identify vaccinations that are either required or recommended for people traveling or planning to travel to particular regions of the world. The system 10 can be easily used to determine any - - required and / or recommended vaccination appropriate for a particular travel itinerary, simply by having the user additionally enter the trip itinerary into the system to be subsequently used by the previously described vaccination planning and management system, which can then automatically access the vaccination requirements for the intended travel destinations to determine the required vaccinations, optionally examine the consumer in relation to any vaccination required or recommended for medical adjustments (using the aforementioned visualization system) and report the required and / or recommended vaccinations optionally they are medically appropriate, if any, for the user. The present invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to track and / or evaluate the trip of a prospective vaccine consumer to determine any possible need for vaccination and / or other precautionary medical treatment, based on spatial locations. (eg, geographical) to which the consumer has traveled, the temporary dates during which the consumer was present in the particular locations (ie, the travel itinerary) and known pathogenic threats or that are believed to exist at those times and in such - - locations, if applicable. The system 10 can be easily employed to determine any significant risk of pathogenic exposure by entering the complete travel itinerary into system 10, collecting the pathogenic hazard data for each location and time provided in the travel itinerary and subsequently evaluating and reporting the possibility and / or probability of exposure to one or more pathogenic threats. To further automate this function, a location monitoring device, such as the global positioning system (or GPS) device, may optionally be provided for the traveler to automatically register and / or optionally automatically enter the itinerary into the system, allowing thus, the substantially real-time evaluation of exposure to pathogenic threats. The present invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method for monitoring and reporting vaccination rates (eg, the number and / or fraction of the population that has been vaccinated), such as in various regions of the world, nation. and / or a local community. Note that the vaccination rate data can be collected by various methods, such as simply by electronically linking the system 10 to an external source of vaccination rate data, such as the disease control center or organizations - - Similarly, they compile and make available periodically such vaccination rates data. Alternatively, system 10 may optionally be used to request vaccination data directly from users of system 10, whereby vaccination reports may be analyzed by users and compiled by system 10 to generally determine vaccination rates. The vaccination rate data can then be communicated to system users (or other parties) for purposes such as assessing whether to travel to an area with low vaccination rates, which frequently experience higher rates of infection. Note that this function may be of particular importance to a prospective traveler who is unable to be vaccinated for medical or other reasons. 4. Alternate Systems and / or Methods for Booking Vaccines a. Supplementary Reservation Functions In addition to the basic reservation methods and systems described hereinabove, the present invention further provides the optional incorporation of one or more alternate and / or supplemental reserve functions. As a non-limiting example, the present invention optionally provides to further include a system and / or substantially automated method to allow the consumer to select and reserve a particular type of vaccine - - including, for example, (1) the method of administration of vaccines (ie, hypodermic injection, nasal spray, oral and the like, (2) the particular strain (or strains) of pathogen (or pathogens) against which it wishes to protect itself. consumer through one or more vaccines (optionally including the ability to specify a vaccine produced on demand for a particular individual or group), and / or (3) the vaccine production method (eg, incubation of pathogen within the egg of a chicken, or, alternatively, some non-allergenic method of producing vaccines.) As a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 can be modified to carry out this function by simply providing in addition (1) one or more electronic menus (or other human interface) operable to present various types of vaccines to allow selection by the user and (2) one or more corresponding additional data fields within each electronic reservation data record capable of receiving and storing such vaccine-type information. Note that modifications to method 30 will typically comprise modification step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. In addition to the manual selection of one or more types of vaccines from an electronic menu, note that the aforementioned personal vaccination plan can be accessed to alternatively allow the automatic reservation of one or more types of vaccines. - - vaccines, such as those listed in a personal vaccination plan. As a second non-limiting example, the present invention further provides optionally including a system and / or substantially automated method for reserving or "subscribing" to a plurality of vaccines during a finite or, optionally, indefinite period of time, wherein the load about the consumer associated with the reserve (or otherwise the procurement) of multiple vaccines is significantly reduced. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 can be modified to perform this function by simply providing in addition (1) one or more electronic menus (or other human interface) operable to present vaccine subscription options that the user can selecting and (2) one or more additional data fields within each electronic reservation data record operable to receive and store such subscription information. Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. The invention anticipates that various types of subscriptions may be established, optionally including as non-limiting examples: subscriptions of fixed term seasonal vaccines of variable duration (e.g., three years, five years, etc.); vaccine subscriptions - - seasonal indefinite term (e.g., subscription that will continue in perpetuity unless canceled); and / or subscriptions to a specific course of vaccinations, such as a course (or series) of pediatric vaccination. As an alternative for the manual selection of one or more vaccine subscriptions from an electronic menu, note that the aforementioned personal vaccination plan can be accessed to alternatively allow the automatic reservation of one or more vaccine subscriptions, such as be listed in a particular personal vaccination plan. Note that the compensation (which will be discussed in more detail below) for a vaccine subscription can be optionally proposed, as non-limiting examples: as a single transaction (eg, one-time payment) or as a series of transactions ( eg, periodic payments) typically, but not necessarily, corresponding to the production, distribution and / or administration program for the vaccine doses comprising the subject vaccine subscription. In addition, it is anticipated that recurring electronic payments for a vaccine subscription may optionally be periodically processed automatically so that the vaccine subscriber (or the subscriber's representative) only needs to authorize the series of payments once, rather than having to authorize each periodic payment - - individually, thus greatly facilitating the processing of compensation for vaccine subscriptions. As another example, for protection against possible unexpected interruptions in the production (and / or distribution and / or administration) of vaccines, the present invention optionally provides a substantially automated system and / or method for reserving a plurality of vaccine doses. for an individual consumer of vaccines (typically including at least a primary dose of vaccine and at least one redundant or vaccine reserve dose for use in the case of loss of the primary dose), wherein the plurality of doses of vaccines is optionally produces, as non-limiting examples; (1) by the same producer, optionally in the same site of the plant and optionally in the same production lot; (2) by the same producer, but optionally in different production lots; (2) for the same products, but optionally in different sites of the different plant; (3) by different producers; (4) by producers in different geographic locations and / or sites of the plant; (5) by producers within different political and / or other authorized limits; and / or by means of some other practicable production arrangement. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 can be modified to carry out this function by simply providing in addition one or more - - electronic menus (or other human interface) operable to present several production options that the user can select. Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. Similarly, to protect against possible unexpected interruptions in the distribution and / or administration of vaccines, the present invention further provides optionally providing a substantially automated system and / or method for distributing and / or separately administering the plurality of vaccines to the consumer. Again, as a non-limiting example, the system 10 and the method 30 can be modified to carry out this function simply by also providing one or more electronic menus (or other human interface) operable to present various distribution and / or administration options that the user can select. Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. As another example of a modified or alternate configuration of the invention, the invention further provides optionally providing a substantially automated system and / or method for pre-authorizing (and optionally for pre-payment) the possible future production of - - one or more vaccines (which are optionally substantially undetermined at the time of pre-authorization by the prospective vaccine consumer), as would be appropriate for a currently unknown, unexpected and / or possibly emerging pathogenic threat (eg, a highly virulent strain) of avian influenza virus that can mutate to become highly infectious and lethal to humans, a biological warfare agent, etc.), whereby the production of one or more of such pre-authorized vaccines can be initiated as soon as practicable. once identified the pathogenic threat, making the vaccine available to the consumer as soon as practicable. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 can be modified to perform this function by simply providing in addition one or more electronic menus (or other human interface) operable to present one or more pre-authorization options than the user may select and optionally to collect and evaluate pathogenic threat information (such as by means described hereinbefore) which may be used to determine if a threat has exceeded some predetermined level, which, if exceeded, would activate the initiation of the production of the pre-authorized vaccine. Note that modifications to method 30 would typically comprise modification of step 300 and, optionally, step 200 - - (optionally including one or more sub-stages thereof) to incorporate the additional aspects noted. As another example of a modified or altered configuration of the invention, the invention further provides for providing a system and / or method for reserving and storing, optionally at a predetermined location (optionally specified by the user), one or more existing vaccines and / or produced in the future for the exclusive future use of the particular consumer. Such a system and / or method is particularly useful to guarantee access to underutilized agents, such as biological warfare agents, which are generally not available in sufficient quantities (globally, nationally and / or locally) for all persons the unlikely event of a crisis. In addition, such systems and / or methods are useful to ensure that the currently available vaccine will be available at a future date when it is more medically appropriate for the consumer to receive the vaccine. For example, a pregnant mother may wish to reserve a flu vaccine for future administration, when it is less likely to interfere with her pregnancy. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 can be modified to carry out this function simply by providing one or more physical storage facilities operable to store one or more vaccines, preferably located or - - "pre-localized" in close proximity to the vaccine consumer to allow rapid access to such vaccine by said vaccine consumer at a time of need. Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. As another example of a modified or alternate configuration of the invention, the invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method for acquiring the authorization of a parent or legal guardian of one or more dependents (eg, an infant in age). school, an incapacitated adult or an elderly dependent person), in order to authorize the administration of one or more vaccines for the dependent person. Note that the system 10 can perform this function using substantially the same means and methods employed to conduct a medical review of a personal vaccination plan, as previously described herein. As another example of a modified or alternate configuration of the invention, the invention further provides optionally providing a substantially automated system and / or method for adding a plurality of individual consumers (or other users) and / or small groups of consumers into one or more groups of consumers to optionally (1) facilitate or allow the - 4 - access to vaccines and / or vaccination services, and / or (2) reduce the cost of vaccines and / or vaccination services, typically as a result of the superior bargaining power of the larger group within a free market economy. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 may be modified to optionally perform this function simply by providing further (1) one or more electronic forms (or other human interface) operable to provide information to system 10 that the user is appropriate to aggregate with other users to form a larger group for one or more purposes as noted above and / or other purposes and (2) processing the user's information regarding the aggregation to establish one or more aggregate user groups . Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification to step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. As another example of a modified or alternate configuration of the invention, the invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method for randomizing the order in which the names of a plurality of optional vaccine suppliers are presented that the consumer can select (such as within a list of providers submitted through a visual display device or - - another human interface), for the consumer to be selected by the consumer, whereby the suppliers have a substantially equal or "fair" opportunity to present themselves to the consumer in a preferred position within a list of suppliers, such as at the top or the start of the list of providers. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 may be modified to optionally perform this function by simply providing in addition one or more electronic forms having an electronic menu (or other human interface) operable to provide a randomized list of providers to a user for selection by the user, wherein an additionally provided scrambling software algorithm is operated to randomize the list of providers provided. Note that modifications to method 30 would again typically comprise modifying stage 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. b. Systems and / or Methods for Donate Vaccines Still as another example of a modified configuration, the present invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to allow individuals or other benefactors (or donors), to provide charitably (or donate) ) one or more vaccines to people who - - they need the vaccine (or donated), but they have limited financial means. To facilitate such a charitable donation of vaccines (or other medical services), the invention also optionally provides a substantially automated system and / or method for registering individuals who need it and optionally authorizing them to receive, through evaluation through the system 10 or through an authorization agency (eg, social welfare office and the like), one or more vaccines by charitable donation. Additionally, the invention provides that such charitable donations may be made directly to a particular individual or group in need or to an unspecified individual or group and that the donated vaccine may optionally be a vaccine specifically purchased and purchased as a charitable donation or a vaccine. which represents a "reserve" or "redundant" dose of vaccines consumer vaccine in the event that the reserve dose is not needed by the individual. Again, as a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 may be modified to optionally perform this function simply by providing in addition (1) one or more electronic forms (or other human interface) operable by the user to provide information to the system 10 regarding the specific donation (eg, the individual or organization that receives the donated vaccine).
- - Note that modifications to method 30, again, would typically comprise the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. Note that methods and / or similar means may optionally be used to register a prospective donor or several prospective donors who need a dose of donated vaccine. Still as another example of a modified configuration, the present invention further provides optionally providing a system and / or substantially automated method to enable the consumer of vaccines (or the consumer's representative) to designate one or more beneficiaries to receive the procedures or benefits ( or partial procedures or benefits) of the one or more consumer vaccines (or other medical services). In addition, to facilitate such designation of such benefits or procedures to one or more suitable beneficiaries, the invention also optionally provides a substantially automated system and / or method for registering suitable beneficiaries (eg, a nongovernmental charity, an educational institution). , a medical research institution and the like). Note that the systems and / or methods required to implement these functions are substantially identical to the system and / or methods required to implement the related functions for donation of vaccine charity as or - - described in the two preceding paragraphs. Note that such charitable giving opportunities also provide an excellent financial incentive to the donor to donate vaccines, other medical services and / or the procedures or benefits of such vaccines and / or services, as a result of the potential tax deductible status of such donations or charitable contributions within various governmental tax collection jurisdictions. To facilitate the reporting of such tax-deductible charitable contributions (for purposes such as preparing tax information for tax collection governmental jurisdictions), the present invention further provides a substantially automated operational system and / or method for report or communicate such charitable contributions to the benefactor and / or any other entity optionally specified by the benefactor, including, as non-limiting examples, the benefactor's accountant, the tax collection jurisdiction and the like. It is anticipated that such information may be communicated by one or more of the many communication methods described herein. In addition to financial incentives regarding taxes offered to the consumer for such charitable contributions, also note that this - - invention further provides providing other systems and / or methods for providing financial incentives related to vaccination, whose several non-limiting examples include providing monetary discounts for (1) reserving a plurality of vaccines for a group (eg, a family, school, employer, aggregate group of unrelated individuals and the like) typically through a single reservation transaction, (2) the total or partial payment of one or more vaccines reserved prior to the start of production (ie, "pre-payment"), and / or (3) choose to subscribe to a plurality or periodic vaccinations (eg, annually, seasonally, etc.) by the number of years (using a system and / or appropriate method optionally incorporated in the reservation system 10. Note that these modifications to method 30, they will typically link the modification of step 300 to incorporate the additional aspects noted. It is emphasized that method 30 for reserving a or more doses of vaccines is generally the most critically important aspect of the present invention from a humanitarian perspective, especially considering that reliable (eg, substantially guaranteed) access to vaccines is necessary to save the lives of thousands of people annually and preserves it. the general health of millions more. However, method 30 is also of great - - economic value being that if reserve processing function can optionally be combined with a financial compensation processing function, where the combination of these functions is operable to significantly reduce the financial risk to vaccine suppliers (eg, producers, distributors, administrators and / or transaction agents), as will be shown below. In addition, the data contained within the database 12 (as a result or the implementation of method 30, steps 100-300), also has a significant economic value in that such data can easily be used to more precisely balance supply and demand of seasonal vaccines, whereby, again, the financial risks associated with the production, distribution and / or administration of vaccines and for other purposes are significantly reduced, as will be further shown below. 5. Systems and / or Methods for Processing Compensation Figure 3. Description and Operation as a System and / or Method for Processing Compensation to Mitigate Financial Risk: Figure 3 represents an alternative embodiment 40 of the present invention comprising a system and / or optionally substantially automated method 40 for processing the - - compensation for such non-limiting purposes, such as mitigating or reducing the financial risk of producing vaccines for vaccine producers and / or other financially interested parties. Note that such financially interested parties may optionally include, as non-limiting examples: one or more producers, distributors, administrators and / or vaccine transaction agents, a government health agency that is responsible for subscribing or insuring the producer's investment and / or a non-governmental organization (perhaps charity) strongly involved in global vaccination efforts. Briefly, the method 40 generally comprises providing an optional system and / or method operable to insure the vaccine consumer and / or other entity (eg, the representative, benefactor and / or third consumer payer) a pre-production payment or compensation (eg, monetary compensation, a donation in kind, and / or voluntary service) and / or other financial commitment (such as a refundable monetary deposit that induces performance, which is reimbursable to the consumer, the consumer's representative and / or a benefactor to the administration or after the administration of the vaccine, if the administered vaccine can be charged subsequently to a third payer). It is noted that the method 40 is in general a modification of the method 30, - - whereby additional steps are incorporated in method 30 to provide assurance of payment (or a proxy thereof) of the consumer of vaccines or of the consumer's representative, generally, but not necessarily, prior to the start of production. In greater detail, as shown in Figure 4, the method 40 for further mitigating the financial risk of vaccine production using the vaccine reserve system 10 activated by consumer demand, typically comprises steps 100-600 as described in FIG. previously represented in Figure 2 (of which only stages 300 and 400 are shown in Figure 4), but which further comprises (generally, but not necessarily, between steps 300 and 400 previously defined) the following additional steps: that the vaccine consumer (or a representative or a user) selects a payment method for reserved vaccines as typically (but not necessarily) presented by the human interface device 16, examples of which include, but are not limited to: that the vaccine consumer (and / or consumer representative and / or benefactor) make a full or partial payment through the human interface device 16; or make the vaccine consumer (and / or the - - representative of the consumer and / or benefactor) make a security deposit type payment (ie, performance induction payment) through a remote human interface device 16, whereby such payment is fully or partially reimbursable when administering the vaccine if The vaccine is collectible to (or charged to or paid for by) a third party payer, such as an insurance company. A government health program (e.g., edicare / edicaid), an employer, a school and the like; or have the vaccine consumer (and / or the consumer representative and / or the benefactor) direct a third payer to make full or partial payment through the remote human interface device 16; and withholding insurance payments (such as in an escrow or credit account) for payment to producers and / or other vaccine providers typically (but not necessarily) either to the reservation, start of production, shipment, and / or administration of the vaccines, generally having to pay after this last all debt not paid for such vaccines (and / or their administration) totally and / or charged to a third party. The specific equipment and processes for collecting the payment may include any common method, means and / or system known to those skilled in the art, but, optionally may include, as non-limiting examples: - - receipt of payment by credit or debit card using a computer terminal connected to the internet (preferably encrypted for security), credit or debit card reader, transaction processing device with credit or debit card, conventional check by mail, system automatic collection for collection (typically, but not necessarily, by electronic methods) to a third party (eg, health insurance company, charitable organization or government health care program, eg, Medicaid / Medicare) and the similar. Note that similar or closely related systems and / or methods can optionally be provided and operated to reimburse the total or partial payment if the need arises, reimbursing a monetary deposit that induces performance, and / or the like. Considering that all vaccine debts can thus be paid optionally prior to production, method 40 of the present invention provides a highly effective method for substantially eliminating the financial risk to vaccine providers and, in particular, to vaccine producers. The basic method 40 for mitigating the financial risk of producing vaccines to vaccine producers by collecting payment using the vaccine reserve system 10 can be altered and / or supplemented in numerous ways. - - shapes . In particular, method 40 may also be used to optionally provide a financial benefit or incentive to the consumer (or the consumer's representative) by providing reduced or discounted payments for reserving and / or pre-paying one or more vaccines prior to the start of production. . Similarly, discounts can be provided for families, other groups, self-administered vaccines and / or for numerous other conditions by guaranteeing an incentive. As a non-limiting example, system 10 and method 30 may be modified to optionally perform this function simply by additionally providing one or more electronic forms (or other human interface) operable to collect information regarding the conditions fulfilled by the user for the which offers a financial incentive and also provides the processing of compensation based on the incentive conditions fulfilled by the user.
