Abstract

The present invention refers to a purifying device for treating agroindustrial wastewaters best known as anaerobic duplex reactor, which consists of two similar tanks connected in series. Each tank has a conical piece attached at the upper portion thereof which is truncated with walls at angles of 60°. Said conical piece has an inverted bell with walls at 60°, which is known as biogas separation chamber, including at least a bell for the collection and elimination of scums led to the outer portion of each tank by means of a tube. The invention also comprises a circular-shaped dispenser formed by sections arranged in equal parts, each section being attached to one or a plurality of tubes which are attached and lowered to the bottom portion of the tank. A sedimentation chamber is located at the upper portion of each tank in order to separate treated water and sludges, a peripheral pourer being attached to the chamber and simultaneously having an annular channel for collecting the treate d water which includes at least a piping for connecting both tanks for supplying the wastewater to the dispenser of the second tank so as to continue the treatment. The inventive anaerobic duplex reactor is useful for obtaining removal efficiencies of at least 80% in the agroindustrial wastewater treatment with COD upper than 5000 mg/L.
