Description
A CLOTHING WITH ACCESSORIES
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to a garment with attachable accessories, such as a badge, in particular, although not necessarily the only thing, a garment with a badge fastened forming an artistic application or an ornament that forms an ensemble with the garment To wear.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the clothing market, many of the products try to offer attractive or striking graphic applications in clothing as part of the product's appeal. Typically, garments, such as shirts, may have phrases, images or other graphic applications printed on the garment. An accessory such as a badge is used, similarly, to decorate clothes. However, badges made of materials such as the fabric that are sewn on the item do not offer flexibility to the appearance of the garment since the badges are attached semi-permanently. Another form of peelable badge may have a flat front surface and a pin or the like to secure it to the garment. However, the reliance on a pin on the back of the badge usually causes the badge to be loose at the front of the garment. Although this may be appropriate where the badge itself is an ornament in its own right, it does not allow the badge to interact easily with the garment itself to provide a general effect.
Similarly, the garments themselves are not provided with graphic applications that intend to cooperate with badges or other accessories. To the extent that other badges or similar objects that can provide a better fit in the garments exist, such as in the patent of E.U.A. No. 5,655,271, do not offer any synergy with the garment as they are not compatible with the graphic application or the design to provide greater utility. In addition, the article described in U.S. Patent No. 5,655,271 provides an annular fixation without backup member. Although it offers a possible flush fit, an article of this type is more difficult to use since the user, when placing it, finds it more difficult to align the two portions shown or tighten them so that they enter an appropriate position without a backing portion of sufficient size for the contact portion. Another problem with such badges is that the use of only rigid materials can cause discomfort or cause the garment to not fit properly in a wearer. The use of softer materials allows higher performance but less contact safety.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide an article of clothing with an accessory and an accessory for use with clothing that can overcome some of the disadvantages of the prior art by offering a cooperation between the garment and the accessory.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, in the first aspect, in general terms it can be said that the invention consists of an article of clothing that includes an accessory comprising: an article of clothing; a region of graphic application in a portion of said article of clothing; a garment accessory including a portion of the main body comprising at least a first substantially flat face and an outer circumference; a contact portion of said garment accessory including at least one circumferential portion to substantially encircle the outer circumference of the main body portion, such that when said portion of the main body and the contact portion are placed on opposite sides of the body. said portion of the article of clothing, then said article of clothing can be firmly held between the portion of the main body and the contact portion; and wherein said portion of the main body forms or includes a graphic application to cooperate with said region of graphic application in said portion of the article of clothing. Preferably, the contact portion provides a base portion that extends through most of the circumferential portion. Preferably, the outer circumference of said portion of the main body includes an intermediate or leading edge of greater circumference than a trailing edge to bias said portion of the main body toward the base portion of the contact portion. Preferably, the contact portion and the main body portion are made of different materials.
Alternatively, the main body portion and a contact base portion can include magnetic materials so that they can be magnetically attracted to each other.
Preferably, a magnetic contact base portion can be detached from the circumferential contact portion. Preferably, said circumferential contacting portion includes a piece extending through the region within the circumference, and a portion of the main body and a magnetic holding portion can be arranged on opposite sides of said piece within the circumferential portion. . Accordingly, in a second aspect, in general terms it can be said that the invention consists of an accessory for use with a clothing article comprising: a portion of the main body comprising at least a first substantially flat printable side and with a circumference Exterior; a contact portion having a recess in which the portion of the main body can fit to substantially encircle the outer circumference of the portion of the main body; and wherein the main body portion can be inserted into the contact portion on opposite sides of a garment to hold the garment firmly in this position. Accordingly, in a third aspect, in general terms it can be said that the invention consists of a garment accessory for use with a garment article comprising: a first portion of the main body comprising at least a first substantially flat printable face and with an outer circumference; a second portion of the body;
said portions of the first and second body are made of or include a magnetic material for magnetic interaction between said first and second body portions; an alignment portion having a recess or opening in which said portion of the main body can fit to substantially encircle the outer circumference of the portion of the main body; and wherein, when in use, a garment can be placed over the alignment portion and between the portions of the first and second body, held firmly by said portions of the first and second body with the alignment portion allowing the garment to reside substantially with the front face of said first portion of the body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITIES
This invention relates to clothing with accessories and is generally described with reference to similar badges or accessories for the placement on the front of garments such as t-shirts or even other articles based on textiles such as bags., posters or something similar. It will be appreciated that the invention as described may also be applied to other accessories such as reamers, identification tags, tags or the like without departing from the essence of the invention as described. The reference to a badge is made solely for the purposes of the preferred embodiments described. With reference to the figures, the invention includes a badge 1 comprising at least a portion of the main body 2 carrying a printable surface for the presentation of sports equipment graphics, phrases or insignia or other aspects
visuals In the preferred embodiment of this invention as shown in Figure 1, this main body 2 is a portion of the flat body carrying at least one printed surface 3. The portion of the main body 2 can be made of a variety of materials although in this particular preferred embodiment, the materials may include relatively firm plastics such as PVC, PP, PU etc. The preferred form can use PU (polyurethane). It is intended that the badge 1 be provided as a relatively thin badge with the general width of the badge with a thickness, in the preferred form, of about 2-3 mm or less if so desired. Likewise, a contact portion 4 is shown in FIG. 1. The contact portion 4 is provided with a recess or an opening 5 in which the portion of the main body 2 can be inserted with a minimum space between the two portions. The contact portion 4 is a circumferential portion that surrounds the outer circumference of the main body portion. In addition, a variety of materials can be used for the contact portion, and either rigid or rigid plastic materials or other materials can be employed. In some embodiments, elastic materials capable of stretching may be used to allow insertion of the main body portion, as will be described below; in the preferred form, a PP contact portion can be used. When in use, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the portion of the main body 2 and the contact portion 4 can be arranged on both sides of a portion of the piece 11 of a garment 10 to retain the piece 11 therebetween. Provided that the fit between the portion of the main body 2 and the contact portion 4 is firm enough, the badge 1 can be firmly retained on the article of clothing with very little
opportunity to slide through the factional contact of the main body portion 2 and the contact portion 4 with the piece 11 of the garment 10. In Figure 3, it can be seen that the contact portion 4 is provided with a base portion 20 which extends through most of the opening formed by the circumferential portion of the contact portion. This type of base portion allows for easier adjustment, alignment and support for the portion of the main body 2 that is being used. In addition, this base portion can provide the contact portion 4 with additional strength to help maintain its shape after repeated use. It should be mentioned that to achieve this, the base portion is provided in most of the opening in the circumferential contact portion; however, this does not preclude the incorporation of some openings in the base portion to accommodate something to detach the portion of the main body 2 from contact with the contact portion as required. Also, as can be seen in Figure 3, this particular embodiment uses a beveled edge 21 and a cooperative bevel at the edge 22 of the contact portion to assist in the firm insertion of the main body portion into the recess. In this embodiment it is preferred to use a leading edge of the main body portion with a circumference greater than that of the trailing edge. However, in other embodiments, the region of greater circumference may be in the middle of the leading and trailing edges, particularly if it is desired that the portion of the main body 2 be reversible with printing and / or graphics on both sides of the body portion. main 2.
It will be appreciated that the cooperative contact portion 4 need not provide a gap or opening to fit exactly into the portion of the main body 2. Instead, some tolerance may be needed to accommodate the piece of clothing, although this also depends on of the rigidity or elasticity of the body portion
principal 2 and the contact portion 4. In another modality (not shown), the portion of the main body 2 may be provided without significant concave curves in the outer circumference. An example of this form would be a circular disk-shaped badge. In this embodiment, the contact portion could be a member with a relatively high elasticity, similar to an elastic band for stretching and adjusting to the outer circumference of the portion of the main body 2. It will be appreciated that this inhibits the use of concave curves in the circumference of the main body portion since such portions may cause a separation between the elastic contact portion and the badge because the elastic portion may attempt to reduce the stress by taking a shorter route through the concave curve. To accommodate a variety of badge shapes, a relatively inelastic contact portion is preferred. In the preferred embodiments, a relatively rigid plastic material may be used. The outer circumference of the contact portion 4 can have any desired shape although, to reduce the overall volume of the article, the mode as shown in Figure 1, assumes an outer circumference only slightly larger than that of the gap. The width of the contact portion around the main body portion can be determined by providing sufficient rigidity to hold the main body portion in position and this will depend on the materials used. With reference to figure 3, it can be seen that the main body portion
2 can be placed in the desired position at the front of the garment and the contact portion pushed from the other side of the garment piece to retain the piece and produce contact. Of course, the contact portion can be placed first and also the portion of the main body 2 pushed from the front of the garment. With reference to Figures 4A and 4B, it can be seen that the cooperative portion
of the main body 2 and the contact portion 4 can be made in such a way that they accommodate shapes which, in turn, have meaning, such as for example making the portion of the main body 2 in the form of a known object, animal, letter, number, etc. In these cases, it is possible that there is no need for additional printing or something similar on the face 3 of the badge since the shape itself makes up the graphic application. In Figures 5, 6 A and 6B another mode is shown. In this embodiment, the portion of the main body 32 and the base portion 33 include a magnetic material so that one attracts the other. The garment 11 is substantially contained between and by the magnetic attraction. In this case, the contact portion 31 surrounding the main body portion may not be a major or main cause retaining the main body portion in the garment. Magnetic attraction can do it by itself. However, this circumferential portion lifts the garment around the circumference of the main body portion 32 to still provide a substantially flush surface through the portion 32 of the badge and the garment extending through the circumferential portion 31. providing a magnetic material, it will be appreciated that it is not necessary that the entire portions 32 and 33 be magnetic. Simply having a magnetic material embedded in each will suffice. Similarly, it is not required to include a magnet in each when a magnet is provided in one and a ferromagnetic material in the other. In addition, a badge, as shown by these figures, is also reversible to accommodate different graphic applications or designs on each side of the main body portion 32 or, in fact, on any of the faces of the portion 33 that can be changed to function. as the main body portion in a symmetrical arrangement like that shown. Symmetry is not essential in the portions of the logo
since each of the two portions 32, 33 can be interchanged to provide at least 2 faces with alternative graphic applications. If all 4 faces of the two combined portions were used, at least one axis of symmetry would be required. With reference to Figure 7, this embodiment shows a reversible portion of the main body using an intermediate edge of greater circumference at the edge 21. In Figures 8A and 8B, an embodiment similar in nature to that shown in Figures 4A is presented. and 4B. In addition, the portion of the main body 2 has a shape suitable for the purpose of the badge, and in this embodiment it may be a human figure for, for example, a player in a sports team or a character of this nature. The contact portion 4 conforms to the general shape of the portion of the main body 2 and provides a recess in which the main body portion rests, with a garment being retained. As shown in Figure 8B, the portion of the main body can be provided with a segment 51 on the perimeter of the portion of specific size and shape to coordinate and cooperate with a slot 52 in the base 20 of the contact portion 4. By providing a segment and a slot of this type, when the badge is not being used, the contact portion can be placed on a surface such as a desk or table, preferably with the base portion 20 forming a top surface. The portion of the main body 2, by placing the segment 51 in the slot 52, can be stopped from the base and held in that position. The contact portion 4 and the portion of the main body 2 are then transverse to each other. This can be particularly useful for users who may have a variety of such badges representing different characters or personalities known as sports stars, and wish to expose them when they are not worn on a garment. As shown in Figure 8A, the base portion 20 may also include a
opening 53 which can be part of or be separate from slot 52. Opening 53 may be useful for the badge once it is in use when a user wishes to detach that portion of main body 2 and contact portion 4. An object Like a pen, a pencil or an object of similar shape can be passed through the opening 53 to help push the portion of the main body 2 and release it from its contact. With reference to Figure 9, another embodiment is provided which also uses magnetic portions 60 and 61 or at least one magnetic portion and the other of a ferromagnetic material to allow attraction. In this embodiment, the circumferential portion 63 includes a piece 64 that extends through the interior where the portions 60, 61 reside. The portions 60, 61 are provided on opposite sides of the piece with the garment 65 retained between the piece 64 and one of the portions 60. The contact portion 63 in this arrangement provides gaps on either side so that the portions 60, 61 are inserted. In this embodiment, it can be seen that the hole intended to capture the garment may have slightly measures. larger to allow the garment to be inserted inside. However, portions 60 and 61 have the same measurements in this example to allow them to be changed to a different graphical application if desired. For placement, a user may wish to first place the portion 61 in its recess to form a contact portion combined with the portion 63. This may be placed within the garment and then the portion 60 is pushed into position to complete the contact. In all embodiments, the edges of the contact portion that can rest on the skin can be rounded to minimize skin abrasion and discomfort. In addition, a soft material can be chosen for the components that rest on the skin to also minimize possible irritation. Figures 10A to 10C show a variety of different surfaces of
contact that may be used between the main body portions of the badge and the outer contact portions for an arrangement as shown in Figure 1. Different edge shapes may allow the two portions to provide greater contact stability. When in use, it can be seen that the accessories can be used with appropriate graphic applications so that the graphic application of the part can be changed either by replacement, by flipping the badge or simply by changing the position. This allows a user to show different affiliations to, for example, a club, a region or a country in different parts of the badge to support various sports teams, etc. Alternatively, a change in the position of the badge on a garment can cover a graphic application or expose graphic applications previously hidden in the garment itself to materially change the overall synergistic effect of the combination. In this way, it can be seen that the invention provides a badge and an article of clothing with such a fastened badge that provides considerable flexibility in the presentation of the graphic application. In addition, the badge resides substantially flush over the garment. This invention has been described by the preferred embodiments which should not be considered limiting for the description itself in general. The specific integers referred to in the description are considered to include known equivalents where appropriate.
