Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for making soft tissue paper or tissue paper, characterized in that it includes the steps of: a) wet coating the cellulosic fibers to form a continuous roll; b) applying to said continuous roll, at a fiber consistency of about 10 percent to about 80 percent, based on the total weight of the continuous roll, a sufficient amount of a polysiloxane compound in such a way that about 0.004 percent to about 0.75 percent of the mentioned polysiloxane, based on the weight of the sca fiber of the tissue paper, is retained in the continuous roll and; c) drying and folding the continuous roll; wherein said tissue paper has a basis weight of about 10 to about 65 g / m2 and a density of not less than about 0.60 g / cc.
