Abstract
The invention relates to the biological treatment of sewage sludge, namely activated sludge and primary sediment. The invention can be applied to public sewage biological treatment plants, as well as sewage from livestock farms and foodstuff processing enterprises. The process provides for mixing at short-term aeration of the primary sediment with anaerobic activity and activated sludge with aerobic activity at a temperature of 40…45°C. The mixture is kept under meso-thermophilic conditions until it is clarified and delaminated to obtain a solid floating substance, aqueous phase and, possibly, organomineral sediment, and their subsequent separation. The optimal biological treatment time is 16…18 hours when using fresh primary sediment.
