Abstract

The invention relates to the shipbuilding, namely, to the ship sail equipment.The problems of the invention consist in the sail equipment aerodynamic characteristics increasing and sail strengh rising.This is achieved by the fact that sail equipment is provided with the rigid cylindric sail, placed horizontally and having the form of an oval in the cross-section. The sail is installed on the rotative mast 1. The cylinder length rises beginning from mast top 1 and oval upper radius is less than the lower one.The sail is devided into two half parts 2 and 3 having the possibility to rotate around the axis, coinciding with the mast 1 rotation one. The sail closed space presence and the little quantity of regions having the lower aerodynamic characteristics as well as the possibility to constrict the air flow, passing through the sail middle, by means of changing the angle between the sail parts 2 and 3, allow considerably improve the aerodynamic sail equipment characteristics and rise the mechanical characteristics thereof.
