Abstract
The invention relates to processes for producing organic compounds, in particular to a process for obtaining N, N-dimethylthioureidobenzoic acids, which can be used as fungicides, nematocides, plant growth regulators or in organic synthesis.The process, according to the invention, includes the interaction of a substituted or unsubstituted aminobenzoic acid with tetramethylthiuram when heated in water and aqueous solution of dimethylamine as activator, at an initial molar ratio of reagents of 1:(0.75...1):(0.5...1) and the temperature of 65...80°C, monitoring of reaction by the method of thin layer chromatography, distillation of the formed carbon disulphide, alkalinization of the residue to pH=9, filtration of sulfur and other impurities, acidulation of filtrate to pH=2...3 and isolation of the reaction product by crystallization in the cold.
