Abstract
The invention relates to livestock breeding, particularly to the selection of dairy cattle.The Moldovan type of black-and-motley cattle (Bos Taurus L.) is created by breed crossing of native cows of Simmental and red steppe breeds with bulls of motley and Holstein breeds with subsequent “in itself” reproduction of the claimed genotypes.The animals are of motley colour and have a dairy-type exterior, the trunk is elongated, the back and the loin is flat and strong, the legs are well-developed and in correct position, with strong hoofs. The cows have a voluminal and glandular udder of vat, cup or round form, the length of teats averages 5…8 cm, and the diameter 2…3 cm. The milking rate constitutes on average 1,8…2,1 kg/min. The milk production potential constitutes 4500…6000 kg with the fattiness of 3.6…3.8%.The advantage of the new type compared with the native initial breeds consists in exceeding the indexes: in body weight - on average by 13.0%; in milk production - on average by 120.6%; in milk fat - on average by 0.5% and in milking rate - on average by 46.2%.
