Abstract

The invention relates to the water treatment, in particular to a process for coagulation-flocculation and may be used during metal cation removal from water.The process provides for the utilization of a mineral component on base of a montmorillonite-type clay purified by quartz, cristobalite and organic impurities, in one of the native states or modified by exchange cations of alkali or alkali-earth metals, which are mixed before introduction into the treated water with macromolecular chitosan on base of chitin having the acetyl groups substituted by hydrogen atoms at the level of 95…96%, in anhydrous state with a content of chitosan with respect to montmorillonite of 0.25…9.75% at the pH 4,0…7,0.
