Abstract

The invention relates to the mechanical engineering, namely to processes and devices for hardening the machine parts by superficial plastic deformation.The process for cold-work hardening of metal surfaces includes the oriented impact working with ferromagnetic cylindrical particles, carried out in monophase pulsating electromagnetic field.The device for cold-work hardening of metal surfaces includes a chamber, which is closed with a sealing cap and filled up with ferromagnetic cylindrical particles, and an electromagnetic system. The chamber is made of dielectric material, onto the open frontal surface, directed towards the treated part, onto its periphery, it is fixed a sealing element. The magnetic circuit is made in the form of “L”, one of the frontal faces of which comes in contact with the sealing cap of the chamber, and the other - with the surface of the treated part. At least two electromagnetic coils are adjacently placed onto the end of the magnetic circuit from the end of the chamber, embracing it, and are electrically connected between them. The electromagnetic coils may be connected between them in series or in parallel.
