Abstract

The invention refers to the regeneration of sorbents, in particular to the regeneration of the used active coal, obtained as a result of use at the water purification plants and impurified with diverse inorganic and organic substances. Summary of the invention consists in that from the used active coal there are removed the mechanical impurities, then it is treated in a mass ratio of 1:(10...12) with a concentrated HCl solution during 20...30 hours, it is washed with demineralized water, it is treated 2...4 times with a KOH solution, then with NaOH during 20...30 hours and it is washed with demineralized water. After that, the coal is repeatedly treated with a concentrated HCl solution within 20...30 hours, it is washed and dried at 100...110 degree C (I variant); it is thermally treated at 600...720 degree C in the current of carbon dioxide (II variant).
