Abstract

The invention relates to the valorization of Moroccan saffron by-products in the field of metallic nanoparticle synthesis. More specifically, the present invention relates to an environmentally friendly process for synthesizing cerium nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) using an aqueous extract of the trimmed saffron flower (Crocus sativus L.) as a novel biological reducing agent. The invention also relates to the cosmetic field. More particularly, the present invention relates to the study of the antioxidant and antibacterial activity of said synthesized nanoparticles for their incorporation into cosmetic products.
