Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for sorting a heterogeneous batch of fresh fish comprising means for moving the fish, means for identifying each fish, and means for sorting the fish according to their type. The device according to the invention is characterized in that the means for moving the fish comprises a lifting tray (1) which cooperates with a vibrating feeder (2) to spread the fish on a conveyor (3), said conveyor (3) cooperates with means (5) for filming an area (10) on the conveyor, the filmed data is then processed by an artificial intelligence algorithm that identifies each fish using pre-established parameters and transmits the instruction to at least one robot (7) placed on the path of the distribution conveyor (3), said robot (7) is equipped with a special arm for picking up and placing one or more fish at a time in one of the bins (A, B, C) according to a sorting program predefined by the user in the control algorithm of the robot (7), another return conveyor (4) is placed at a lower level than the distribution conveyor (3) and moves in the opposite direction to the conveyor (3) in order to collect unsorted fish and transfer them to the elevator tray (1).
