The mobile device (112) includes at least one camera (122). The method comprises the steps of: a) providing the mobile device (s) (112) including the camera (s) (122); b) providing at least one reference object (114) having at least one predefined spatial extent (116); c) taking at least one image (124) of at least part of the reference object (114) using the camera (122); and d) deriving at least one piece of spatial resolution information using the image (123), the piece or pieces of spatial resolution information comprising one or more digital values, which quantify the ability to resolution of two or more objects by the camera.
