Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of reading a barcode by means of a camera and more particularly to the identification of a remote qr code. The method proposed, through the present invention, is based essentially on image capture by means of a digital camera (11) hd (high definition) which is used to capture a first format image hd. In order to reduce the computation time, this first image is converted into a second definition image sd (standard definition) and then into a third black and white color image (13). Said third binary image (13) is scanned in the two orthogonal directions of the image (31, 32) in order to extract the zones (14) capable of containing the search patterns (21, 45, 52) characterizing the QR code captured (14, 51). Once the code area qr is located in the black and white binary image, the system extracts the corresponding area in the hd image containing the cropped qr code. The method is adapted to correct the perspective effect (111) in the event that said code area has been deformed. The extraction of the information (132) contained in said corrected qr code (131) thus becomes possible thanks to the algorithms already known.
