Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes et procédés pour améliorer la qualité de signaux vidéo numériques compressés en divisant les signaux vidéo en régions de dégroupage et de détail, en lissant la trame complète, en recouvrant chaque trame lissée par une région de détail conservé de la trame. La région de détail peut être calculée seulement en trames clés après quoi elle peut être utilisée dans des trames adjacentes afin d'améliorer le rendement calculatoire. Cette amélioration est renforcée en calculant une région détaillée étendue dans des trames clés. Le concept d'utilisation d'une image de toile lisse, sur laquelle l'image de détail est superposée, est analogue à un artiste peignant d'abord le tableau complet avec une toile non détaillée (en utilisant habituellement un gros pinceau large) et peignant ensuite en recouvrant cette toile avec le détail nécessaire (en utilisant habituellement un petit pinceau fin).
