Abstract

La présente invention porte sur une bande (10) et sur un article tubulaire (74) formé à partir de ladite bande (10) qui peut, par exemple, être utilisé dans l'industrie du pétrole et du gaz pour transporter des fluides qui peuvent être des fluides volatiles ou des fluides corrosifs et qui peuvent être à des températures élevées et/ou des pressions élevées. La bande (10) comprend une pluralité d'agencements de gradin (indents) et de nervures. Dans l'article assemblé fini, la bande (10) est enroulée dans une relation où elle se chevauche elle-même de façon hélicoïdale, de façon à permettre à des parties de gradin correspondantes de s'appuyer les unes dans les autres. Le gradin assure efficacement la double fonction d'un indent et d'une nervure comme il est connu dans la technique et effectue ceci de façon à réduire les contraintes de formation dans le matériau et à augmenter la résistance de l'article final.
