Abstract
A method for fast detection of coloured counterfeits analysing monochromatic images of the object and the reference (original) captured by a digital RGB camera under illumination by one, two or three discrete spectral lines is proposed. The authenticity of the object is evaluated by analysis of its monochromatic spectral images at fixed wavelengths. If two spectral lines are exploited for simultaneous illumination of the object additionally the ratios of the corresponding pixel (or pixel group) values of the two monochromatic spectral images are compared. If three spectral lines are exploited simultaneously for illumination the authenticity of the object is additionally validated by comparison of the images that are formed as direct or inverse ratios of the first and the second, the first and the third, and/or the second and the third monochromatic images.
