Abstract

An invention pertains to the chemical engineering of fuel, and it can be used in wood-chemical industry and fuel industry. The essence of the method offered for production of charcoal is that heating of changeable containers (25) loaded with wood material is carried out by controlled flue gas stream introduced into retort (11) directly under container. Besides, preliminary drying of wood is realized in the same container (25) before it is loaded into retort by means of blowing cooled effluent gas through the interior space of container , temperature parameters and inside furnace operating condition being actively controlled, cooling the changeable container by help of outdoor air stream and disposal part of waste gases into atmosphere subsequently carrying out after-burning thereof. The apparatus (fig.1) for implementation of method offered differs from the known apparatus therefor because the changeable container (25) is carried out as general-purpose container, and it is provided with ventilation window equipped with removable hermetic end-piece. Besides, gas duct (34, 35) for heat recovery of effluent gas that is provided with controllable gas collector (32) is taken out to the auxiliary platform (37) of drier and connected with fitting ring (38). The lower end of outlet branch pipe (27) for disposal of waste vapour-gas mix flowing out from general-purpose container (25) that is located on the platform (37) is freely taken into said fitting ring (38). Furthermore, a duct (15) for supply of flue gas into retort (11) is provided with air intake vent (17) having end shut-off valve (18) but space of fire-chamber of furnace (2) is connected with autonomous ducts (7) for waste-gas disposal side by side with main ducts (6) and auxiliary gas ducts (10).
