Abstract

The plug for a lead acid battery has a gas passage (18) with a first closure (23) and a second closure (29) arranged with the first so that, in the open position, both closures are separated and in the closed position, the second closure lies against the first to stop flow. The second closure is biased to the closed position by fluid pressure and is upstream of the first closure.
