Abstract
본 발명은 액정 표시 소자에 관한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로는, 광시약각을 확보할 수 있는 액정 표시 소자에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 액정 표시 소자는, 대향하는 상, 하부 기판, 상부 기판의 하단면과 하부 기판의 상단면에 각각 형성된 전극 상하간에, 180°방향으로 러빙된 배향막, 상, 하부기판사이에 봉입되어 전압의 인가시 러빙된 방향으로 구동되는 액정을 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 액정과 배향막 표면간의 상호 작용 및 액정이 지니고 있는 프리틸트에 의한 시야각의 협소해짐을 방지하기 위하여, 프리틸트각이 0°에 가깝도록 180°로 배향막을 러빙하고, 전장 인가시, 음의 유전 이방성을 갖는 액정들이 △nd=λ/2조건에서 최대광 투과 특성을 보이도록 배열하여, 시야각에 따른 굴절율 값을 일치시킴으로써, 그레이스케일 인버젼이 없는 넓은 시야각 특성을 갖는 액정 표시 소자가 달성된다.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1.
