본 발명은 영상 신호를 각 대역으로 분할한 후 양자화를 수행하고 이를 다시 가변 길이 부호화하는 대역 분할 부호화 시스템의 양자화 장치에 관한 것으로, 대역 분할에 의한 고주파 대역의 신호들을 양자화 하는 양자화부(100)와; 상기 양자화부(100)의 양자화 결과 각 화소의 양자화 크기 데이터가 1인 화소를 검출하는 중김 양자화 크기 검출부(110)와; 상기 양자화 크기 데이터가 1인 각 화소를 중심으로 십자형 윈도우를 형성하는 윈도우 형성부(120)와; 상기 십자형 윈도우의 중심 화소를 제외한 나머지 4개의 화소의 양자화 크기 데이터가 0인지를 검출하는 주변 양자화 크기 검출부(130)와; 상기 십자형 윈도우의 주변 화소 양자화 크기 데이터가 모두 영이고, 중심 화소 양자화 크기 데이터가 1일 경우 중심 화소 양자화 크기 데이터를 영으로 세트하는 양자화 수정부(140)를 구비하여 구성함을 특징으로 한다.The present invention relates to a quantization apparatus of a band division coding system for performing quantization after dividing an image signal into respective bands and performing variable length coding again.
