본 발명은 레이저광을 이용한 물체의 외관치수측정장치 및 외관치수측정방법에 관한 것으로서, 측정 대상물체에 빛을 투사하는 광원과, 상기 물체에 투사된 후의 상기 광원으로부터의 빛을 수령하여, 명도를 픽셀단위로 수치화하는 CCD카메라와; 상기 CCD카메라로부터의 수치화된 데이타에 의해 물체의 외관치수를 판별하는 판별부를 갖는 외관치수측정장치에 있어서, 상기 광원으로부터의 빛은, 레이저광으로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 외관치수측정장치 및 측정대상 물체에 레이저광을 투사하는 단계와; 상기 물체를 통과한 후의 상기 레이저광을 CCD카메라로 수령하는 단계와, 상기 수령된 레이저광을 명도에 따라 CCD카메라의 픽셀단위로 수치화하는 단계와; 상기 수치화된 픽셀단위의 데이타에 따라 물체의 외관치수를 판별하는 단계를 포함하는 물체의 외관치수측정방법이다. 이에 의해, 측정대상 물체와 CCD카메라 사이의 거리, 측정대상 물체의 크기, 빛의 회절 및 외부로부터 유입되는 빛의 영향 등에 의한 오차가 없이 정밀한 측정이 가능하며, 특히 물체의 경계를 정확히 판별할 수 있고, 레이저광의 폭보다 큰 물체의 외관치수를 측정할 수 있다.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1.
