본 발명은 킥 다운 시프트시 응답 향상 장치 및 그 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 다운 시프트의 판단 시점에서 스로틀 밸브 개도의 증가에 의해 실제 변속이 진행되는 순간까지의 지연 시간을 검출하기 위한 감지 수단과, 상기 감지 수단을 통해 검출된 지연 시간과 이미 설정된 기준 시간을 비교하여, 상기 검출된 지연 시간이 이미 설정된 기준 시간보다 작거나 같을 경우에만, 해당하는 변속단까지의 변속 동작을 실행할 수 있는 제어 신호를 출력하도록 설계된 변속 제어 장치로 구성되었으며, 자동 변속기를 장착한 차량에서, 다운 시프트의 판단 시점과 스로틀 밸브 개도의 증가에 의해 실제 변속이 진행되는 순간까지의 지연 시간을 검출하고, 상기 스로틀 밸브 개도의 변화율에 따라 다운 시프트 결정을 다시 판단하여 변속을 실시함으로씨, 변속감 및 응답을 향상시킬 수 있도록 한 킥 다운 시프트시 응답 향상 장치 및 그 제어 방법에 관한 것이다.The present invention relates to an apparatus for improving a response during a kick down shift and a control method thereof, comprising: sensing means for detecting a delay time from a determination point of the down shift to an instant when an actual shift is progressed by an increase in the throttle valve opening degree; By comparing the delay time detected by the sensing means with the preset reference time, and outputting a control signal for shifting to a corresponding shift stage only when the detected delay time is less than or equal to the preset reference time.
