본 발명은 ACMS(Auto Channel Memory System)기능 실행시 동일 채널에 대해서는 강신호채널만을 선별 저장함으로써, 근접채널신호 또는 간섭채널신호로 인해 동일한 채널이 중복되어 설정되는 현상을 예방할 수 있도록 된 채널 자동 설정장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 방송선국을 위한 튜너(TUNER)와, 영상신호의 출력레벨을 근거로 상기 튜터 내부의 증폭도를 제어함으로써 영상신호의 출력레벨을 일정하게 제어하는 AGC회로 및 채널 자동 설정기능에 의해 설정된 채널데이터를 저장하는 검색채널저장수단을 구비한 텔레비젼 수상기에 있어서; 방송신호로부터 KBPS코드신호를 분리하여 검출하는 KBPS코드검출수단과, 유신호채널방송에 대한 동기신호를 검출하는 동기신호검출수단, 이 동기신호검출수단에 의해 유신호채널이 선별되게 되면 이때의 채널데이터와 함께 상기 KBPS코드검출수단에 의해 검출된 해당 코드신호 및 해당 채널의 AGC레벨을 서로 대응시켜 저장하는 AGC레벨저장수단, 이 AGC레벨저장수단에 저장되는 데이터를 비교연산하여 각 채널에 대해 AGC레벨이 최소인 방송채널을 선택하여 상기 검색채널저장수단에 선별저장 하도록 제어하는 제어수단을 포함하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 채널 자동선정장치와; 현재 튜닝되어 입력된 채널에 동기신호가 존재하면 해당 채널의 코드 데이터를 검출하는 코드데이터 검출단계; 상기 검출된 채널의 채널데이터와 AGC레벨 및 코드 데이터를 서로 대응시켜 저장하는 유신호채널 데이터저장단계; AGC레벨을 근거로 상기 저장된 데이터 가운데 각 채널마다 AGC레벨이 가장 낮은 채널 데이터를 선별하여 채널 선국의 근거 데이터로 저장하는 채널선국네이터 저장단계를 포함함을 특징으로 하는 채널 자동설정 방법을 제공함에 있다.According to the present invention, when the ACMS (Auto Channel Memory System) function is executed, only the strong signal channel is selectively stored for the same channel, so that the same channel can be prevented from being duplicated due to the proximity channel signal or the interference channel signal.
