본 발명은 영상신호와 함께 전송되는 VPS의 방송국 코드를 이용하여 국가별, 방송국별 사용자가 선호하는 순서에 의해 자동으로 정렬하여 저장할 수 있는 채널 탐색방법에 관한 것인 바, 그 특징은 PWM데이터의 순차적인 증가에 따라 채널을 탐색하여 비디오 신호가 발견되면 AFT를 실행하여 그 신호를 정튜닝하고 튜닝이 완료된 시점에서 복조된 비디오 신호의 16라인을 검출하여 방송국 코드를 읽어들여 그 신호의 PWM데이터와 방송국 코드를 저장하는 채널탐색동작을 낮은주파수 대역(VL)부터 UHF대역까지 순차적으로 반복하는 제1단계와, 상기 제1단계의 채널탐색동작이 완료되는 시점에서 사용자가 선호하는 국가별, 방송국별 코드를 지정하면 그 코드를 우선순위별 채널 정렬에 대한 제1디폴트값으로 기억시키는 제2단계와 상기 제2단계에서 부여된 제1디폴트값에 따라 해당하는 방송채널을 상기 제1단계에서 순차적으로 저장된 램의 데이터로부터 추출하여 다시 정렬하는 제3단계와, 상기 제3단계가 수행되는 시점에서 사용자가 선호하는 지역별 코드를 지정하면 그 코드를 우선순위별 채널 정렬에 대한 제2디폴트값으로 기억시키는 제4단계와, 상기 제4단계에서 부여된 지역 코드별 제2디폴트값에 따라 해당하는 방송채널을 상기 제3단계에서 제1디폴트값으로 정렬된 국가별, 방송국별로 정렬된 방송채널의 데이터로부터 추출하여 다시 정렬하는 제5단계로 이루어짐에 있다.The present invention relates to a channel searching method that can automatically sort and store according to a user's preferred order by country and station by using a broadcasting station code of a VPS transmitted with a video signal.
