이 발명은 서스펜드 모드에서의 컴퓨터 시스템 보호장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로서, 컴퓨터 시스템이 동작할 수 있도록 외부에서 전원을 공급하는 전원 공급부와, 메인 시스템과 서스펜드 모드 동작 및 리줌 동작 구동부와, 서스펜드 모드에서 리줌을 하기 위해 신호를 출력하는 리줌 요구 회로와, 짜여진 프로그램에 맞추어 상기 장치 및 그 외 장치등을 제어, 연산, 저장 등을 하는 마이컴과, 메인 시스템과 마이컴 사이에서 데이터의 송수신을 담당하는 시스템 버스와, 주전원을 메인 시스템으로 연결시켜 주기 위해서 마이컴에 의해 컨트롤되는 주 전원 스위치와, 서스펜드 모드시 메인 시스템으로 전원을 공급하기 위한 회로에 전원을 공급해줄 수 있도록 하는 마이컴에 의해 컨트롤되는 절전 스위치로 구성되어 있으며; 사용자의 요구에 의하여 컴퓨터 시스템을 다시 서스펜드 모드 이전의 상태로 리줌(RESUME)시킬 경우 로우 배터리로 인한 서스펜드 모드에서는 급격한 전류의 방전으로 인하여 배터리의 전압이 급격히 떨어져서, 정상적인 전압의 공급 불안정으로 인한 PMS 기능 및 컴퓨터 시스템의 기능을 수행할 수 없게 되어 RAM에 저장되어 있던 모든 데이터를 잃어버릴 수 있는 문제점을 해결하는 효과를 가진 서스펜드 모드에서의 컴퓨터 시스템 보호장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것.The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for protecting a computer system in a suspend mode, comprising: a power supply for supplying external power to operate a computer system, a main system, a suspend mode operation and a resume operation driver, and a suspend mode; A resume request circuit that outputs a signal for resume, a microcomputer that controls, operates, and stores the device and other devices in accordance with the programmed program, and a system bus responsible for transmitting and receiving data between the main system and the microcomputer.
