본 발명은 자동차에서 배출되는 배기가스를 정화시키는 촉매 변환장치에 관한 것으로서, 종래의 산화 촉매장치는 엔진에서 배출되는 배기가스가 촉매의 활성화온도 도달 여부에 불문하고 항시 전방배기로에서 촉매를 그대로 통과하도록 되어 있어 촉매를 국부적으로만 가열하므로 촉매가 활성화 온도에 도달하는 시간이 상당히 오래 걸렸으며, 이로인해 시동 초기시에 특히 다량 배출되는 배기가스의 유해 물질을 보다 신속하고 효과적으로 정화할 수가 없어 대기 오염을 가중시키는 문제점이 있었다.The present invention relates to a catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas emitted from an automobile.
