Abstract
본 발명은 하드웨어적으로 그 구현이 용이하고, 패턴 부호화를 위해 분할된 블록내 각 픽셀들의 평균값을 이용함으로써고속의 패턴 벡터 부호화를 실현할 수 있는 개선된 패턴 벡터 부호화 시스템에 관한 것으로, 이를 위하여 본 발명은, 영상신호를 패턴 부호화하기 위한 부호화 수단으로서, 차분신호에 대한 시간영역의 영상신호들을 코사인 함수를 이용하여 8×8 단위의 주파수영역의 DCT변환계수들로 변환하기 위한 DCT블록과, 변환된 DCT변환계수 블록들을 소정 크기의 복수의부블럭으로 분할한 다음 각 부블럭들에 대한 평균픽셀값을 산출하는 평균값 추출 블록과, 이 분할된 각 부블럭의 픽셀값들을 각 부블럭들에 대한 평균값 추출 블록으로 부터의 대응 평균픽셀값으로 감산하여 얻어진 입력 패턴들에 대응하는 기준 패턴들을 구비된 코드 테이블로부터 조사하여 패턴 매칭을 수행함으로서, 기준 패턴들에 대한 인덱스 값을 발생하는패턴 매칭 블록과, 이 패턴 매칭 블록으로부터 출력되는 입력 패턴들에 상응하는 인덱스 값들과 평균값 추출 블록으로부터 제공되는 각 평균값들에 대한 레벨값들을 다중화하여 전송을 위해 출력측으로 제공하는 멀티플렉서를 구비한다.The present invention relates to an improved pattern vector coding system that can be easily implemented in hardware and that can realize high-speed pattern vector coding by using an average value of each pixel in a divided block for pattern coding.
