Abstract

The present invention provides a cathode of the novel configuration and a heater thereof. Conventional cathode assemblies are extremely complex in construction and difficult to manufacture properly, and the configuration of color CRTs is more difficult and has a problem of causing thermal effects on adjacent electrode bodies. In the present invention, by forming a well in the body of the heat insulating material to store the electron-emitting material therein and to heat it with a plate heater to make the configuration extremely simple to facilitate the manufacture and to block the heat and heat effects.

Claims (10)

A cathode of an electron gun, wherein a well is formed in a body made of an insulating material to store an electron-emitting material, and a tubular heater is installed below the well. 2. The cathode of an electron gun as recited in claim 1, wherein said well and corresponding plate heaters comprise three for each of R, G, and B guns. The electron gun cathode according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein a buried piece embedded in the bead glass of said body is provided. The electron gun cathode according to claim 1, wherein a predetermined cap is formed between the lower surface of the well and the plate heater. The electron gun cathode of claim 1, wherein the well and the plate heater are separated into thin partitions formed as part of the body. The electron gun cathode according to claim 1, wherein the heat insulating material constituting the body is any one of alumina and ceramic. A heater for heating an electron-emitting material to release thermal transfer, wherein the heating element has a plate shape. The electron gun heater according to claim 7, wherein the plate heater has a configuration in which a conducting wire is connected to a plate of a heating element of a predetermined shape. 8. The heater of claim 7, wherein the plate heater is configured by arranging wires of a heating element in a zigzag or spiral path.
