종래 콘센트는 풀러그를 꽂지 아니할 때에도 항시 전류가 흐르고 있어서 콘센트의 플러그삽입구에 어린이가 젓가락이나 못등을 끼움으로 해서 발생하는 감전사고를 미연에 방지하기 위한 수단으로서 콘센트를 사용하지 아니할 때에는 별도의 덮개를 플러그삽입구에 꽂아서 이와 같은 감전사고를 방지한것이 본 출원인의 고안한 실용신안등록출원 제91-1540호 "콘센트 안전덮개"가 있으나 이것은 안전덮개를 따로 비치하여야하는 불편이 있고 더구나 분실되거나 의로 부주의로 끼우지 아니할 경우의 대비책이 미흡하여 어린이의 감전사고 방지수단으로 서는 충분치 못한 결점이 있어 이와 같은 문제점을 해소하기 위한 것으로서 본 출원인이 고안한 실용신안등록출원 제193-14058호 "안전콘센트"에서 평상시에는 콘센트에 전류가 흐르지 아니하게 차단하고 콘센트에 플러그를 꽂음과 동시에 전류가 흐르게하여 어린이가 젓가락이나 못등을 꽂아도 감전되지 아니하게 고안한 것이었으나 이경우에는 분리된 양단자를 연결하는 접속판이 단자의 상면 접속부에 시소방식에 의하여 접속되므로서 접속판의 선단과 중단이 양단자의 상면접속부에 동시에 당접되지 못하므로서 정확한 접속이 불가능한 결점을 면치못하였다.Conventional outlets always have a current that flows even when the plug is not plugged in.
