Abstract
본 발명은 에르븀-이 첨가된 광섬유를 이득매질로 하여 광여기에 의해 동작하는 광폭기를 중계기로 사용한 광전송시스템에 광증폭기의 여기광을 변조함으로써 발생하는 이득계수의 변동현상을 이용하여 데이타 전송신호를 반송자로 하여 여기에 진폭 변조 형태로 감시신호를 중첩시켜 전송하는 광증폭 중계기 감시신호 전송방법 및 그 전송장치에 관한 것으로, 광중계기의 수가 많을 경우 충분한 감시신호 전송채널을 확보하여야 하는 문제점을 해결할 수있으며, 감시신호를 데이타 전송신호와 동일한 전송로를 사용하여 전송하며, 간단하고 저렴하게 광중계기의 감시기능을 구현하는 효과가 있다.The present invention utilizes the erbium-doped optical fiber as a gain medium and uses a variation of the gain coefficient generated by modulating the excitation light of the optical amplifier in an optical transmission system using an optical amplifier operated by optical excitation as a repeater. In addition, the monitoring signal is transmitted using the same transmission path as the data transmission signal, and it is effective to implement the monitoring function of the optical repeater simply and inexpensively.
