가칭주파수대역을 갖는 시간영역의 오디오신호를 샘플링하는 과정, 샘플링된 오디오신호를 복수의 임계대역으로 분할된 주파수영역의 신호로 변환하는 과정, 각 임계대역마다 당해 임계대역의 MNR을 최대로 하는 양자화 비트수를 할당하는 과정 그리고 할당한 양자화 비트수에 의해 주파수영역의 신호를 양자화하는 과정을 갖는 부호화방법에 있어서, 상기 비트할당과정은 모든 임계대역에 대하여 SMR과 당해 임계대역의 SNR의 차가 소정의 문턱지 이상이 되는 최소의 양자화비트수를 할당하는 제1과정; 상용가능한 양자화비트수를 모두 할당할 때까지 상기 SMR과 각각의 임계대역에 할당된 양자화비트수에 의한 SNR과의 차이를 계산하고, 그중에서 가장작은 값을 임계대역을 찾아 양자화비트수를 추가로 할당하는 것을 반복하는 제2과정을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 오디오 신호의 부호화방법.Sampling the audio signal in the time domain having a tentative frequency band, converting the sampled audio signal into a signal in the frequency domain divided into a plurality of critical bands, and quantizing the maximum MNR of the critical band for each critical band.
