BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention The present invention relates to the manufacture of cathode ray tubes, and more particularly, to a heater for heating a cathode of an electron gun assembly.
The electron gun assembly consists of a cathode for emitting electrons and a plurality of electrodes for focusing and accelerating the emitted electrons and landing on a screen. In order for the cathode to emit electrons, it must be heated to a predetermined temperature, and a heater is usually used as its heating source. Since the heater must be able to withstand the cathode's operating temperature (about 1000 ℃ ~ 1300 ℃), the high melting point tungsten (W) is used. Especially, a small diameter (for example, about 40㎛) core wire It is wound in the form of a coil. Since the minute heater is difficult to be directly connected to a connector or the like, the micro heater is joined to the heater tab and inserted into the sleeve of the cathode. In the joining method, the micro heater is connected by the contact resistance between the base materials to be joined. Resistance welding is used.
1 and 2 show a welding state between the conventional heater and the heater tab. That is, when the leg 2 of the heater 1 is brought into contact with one side of the heater tab 3, the electrode rods 4 are placed on both sides of the predetermined portion to be welded, and the current is energized and simultaneously energized. Heat generated by contact resistance is generated at the contact portion between the leg 2 of the head 2 and the heater tab 3, and the joint is melted and welded by this resistance heat. However, since the melting point of the heater 1 made of tungsten material is much higher than the resistance heat that can be generated at about 2800 ° C. and 1400 ° C., the legs 2 of the heater 1 are not melted, but only the heater tab 3 is melted. As a result, as shown in FIG. 2, the welding of the heater 1 and the heater tab 3 is performed in such a manner that the leg 2 of the heater 1 is drawn into the heater tab 3.
As described above, in the conventional welding structure, the legs 2 of the heater 1 are welded into the heater tab 2 so that the welding girth is insufficient, so that sufficient welding strength cannot be exhibited. As a result, the heater 1 is easily separated from the heater tab 3 even with a small impact, causing short-circuit to occur, and as a result, image quality and reliability of the cathode ray tube cannot be secured.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a cathode heater of a cathode ray tube electron gun capable of stably and firmly supporting a heater in view of the above-described conventional problems.
In order to achieve the above object, the electron gun for the cathode ray tube of the present invention is characterized in that a protrusion is formed at the welded portion of the heater tab to which the heater is welded to surround the leg of the heater by melting the protrusion when welding with the heater.
Accordingly, according to the present invention, since the welding gauze is increased by the protrusion of the heater tab, the heater is stably and firmly supported so that it is not short-circuited by external factors such as impact, and consequently, greatly improves the image quality and reliability of the cathode ray tube. Will contribute.
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in FIG. 3, the heater tab 13 according to the present invention has a protrusion 14 having a predetermined height formed at a portion to which the leg 12 of the heater 11 is welded, the height of which is the heater 11 during welding. The leg 12 is selected to have a suitable height to increase the welding girth. The shape of the protruding jaw 14 is shown to have a rectangular cross section, but may be an arcuate cross section or any other form.
As described above, various methods of forming the protrusion 14 on the heater tab 13 may be used. Referring to FIG. 4, one preferred method of forming the protrusion 14 of the heater tab 13 of the present invention will be described. The heater tab 13 'primarily processed into a shape is pressurized on both contact surfaces except for a portion to be welded with the heater 11 by a molding press (not shown). At the same time, pressing both sides of the portion to be welded to form a projection step 14 of the predetermined height.
The process of welding the heater 11 to the heater tab 13 of the present invention having such a structural feature will be described with reference to FIG. 5.
First, the legs 12 of the heaters 11 are brought into contact with the protrusions 14 of the heater tabs 13, and then pressurized with the electrode rods 15 at both sides thereof and energized at the same time. Heat is generated. As a result, a portion of the protrusion 14 of the heater tab 13 having a relatively low melting point is melted so that the leg 12 of the heater 11 is drawn into the protrusion 14 and joined. As shown in FIG. 6, the welded heater 11 has a leg 12 enclosed by the protrusion 14 of the heater tab 13 to form a sufficient welding girder.
According to the present invention as described above, since the heater is firmly and stably supported by the protrusions of the heater tabs, a defect in which the welded portion is short-circuited by external factors such as impact does not occur, thereby improving the welding quality.
Therefore, the present invention has a great effect on improving the image quality and reliability of the finished cathode ray tube.
