Abstract

The variable frame allocation method includes the steps of abstracting the amount of acknowledgment information of each frame from masking threshold value and power value of a digital audio signal; forming a plurality of frames which are adjacent to one another into one bit allocation processing unit, dividing the frames included in the bit allocation processing unit into two frames each of which consists of the same number of frame, comparing the amount of acknowledgment information with a predetermined critical value and determining the amount of allocated bit of the two frames; repeating the frame allocation using the amount of bit allocated to each frame until the number of frame included in the two frames becomes one.
