Abstract
본 발명은 방대한 양의 데이타를 처리하는데 작업이 있어 PC의 처리능력을 향상시키기 위한 메모리 확장방법에 관한 것으로, DRAM 소자로 구성된 뱅크 메모리 보드를 메모리 카드에 장착하고 이 메모리 카드를 시스템 내부의 카드슬롯이나 카드소켓에 삽입함으로써 시스템을 분해하지 않고 메모리를 확장하여 시스템 내부의 CPU에서 1MB보다 많은 메모리를 사용할 수 있도록 하였고 종래의 메모리 모듈방식으로 시스템 보드에 메모리를 첨가하는 방식이나, 2개의 뱅크에는 램칩을 직접 PCB위에 납땜하고 나머지 2개의 뱅크에는 램칩을 꽂을 수 있는 소켓만을 납땜하여 원하는 램 소자를 장착해서 메모리를 확장하는 방식에서 문제시 되었던 확장된 메모리 용량에 맞추어 시스템 메모리 재구성해야하는 번거로움을 없앴고 카드식으로 메모리 확장장치를 구현함으로써 휴대하기에 간편한 장점이 있다.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1.
