종래의 정착방법은 대체적으로 압력정착방식, 열정착방식 그리고 열·압력정착방식등 세가지 방법이 주류를 이루며 널리 이용되어 왔으나 그중에서도 열·압력정착방식이 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 실정으로서 이는, 약 60초의 예열시간을 필요로 한다는 점을 단점으로 지적할 수 있는바, 제4도에서 도시한 것과 같이 건사를 완료하여 종이위에 토너를 갖고 있는 상태에서 종이는 정착기의 테프론 롤러(1)와 프레스롤러(2)사이로 지나가면서 토너는 열에 의해 녹고 이와동시에 종이에 스며들게되는 정착과정을 거치게 된다. 따라서, 히터램프(3)에 의해 테프론롤러(1)가 일정온도에 도달될때까지 사용자는 필연적으로 기다려야만 하는 대기시간을 필요로 한다.Conventional fixing methods have been widely used in three main methods, pressure fixing method, passion fixing method, and heat and pressure fixing method, but among them, heat and pressure fixing method is the most widely used, which is about 60 seconds of preheating.
